You stupid fuc.....oh wait, it's supersport.
4/4/2008 7:13:00 PM
Scientists would "never test it", huh?
You lose. Good day sir.
Oh, you mean the part where they just sit around and HOPE? Well, you know the saying. Shit in one hand, dream in the other...
4/4/2008 7:13:40 PM
Science actually can regenerate limbs to some extent, using, you know, knowledge.
But Im sure prayer will work just fine for you.
4/4/2008 7:18:33 PM
Talking rationally is not something Supersport does regularly. I think he went to the wrong site.
4/4/2008 7:25:39 PM
For a moment there, I thought he was showing sigsn of support for evolution, but then he went on to prove how stupid he is.
4/4/2008 7:29:40 PM
So it's like that shit in The Secret? If you wish REALLY REALLY hard, you'll get it?
Can I regenerate myself a Porsche now?
4/4/2008 7:31:12 PM
Does your name happen to be 'Logan', Supersport? No? Well then, something tells me you ain't growing back *shit*.
4/4/2008 7:32:55 PM
A single work comes to mind......FAIL!
4/4/2008 7:33:08 PM
C'mon Supersport, you are walking evidence that no such thing as possible...if it were, well you would regenerated your brain and your balls by now...
4/4/2008 7:35:43 PM
You should NOT be on a site called "Talk Rational".
4/4/2008 7:35:47 PM
thank you Dorkman! beat me to it!
4/4/2008 7:36:07 PM
Spinal damage/muscle/skin/etc. =/= missing limb.
4/4/2008 7:36:53 PM
"Heck, we regenerate things all the time: muscle, skin, brain, bone, even spinal columns to some degree, etc."
Yeah, all you para/quadriplegics are LAZY! Sacks of shit, just WISH your shattered and crippled bodies back to health! Maybe Supersport here can regenerate that part of his brain that makes him not retarded.
4/4/2008 7:39:53 PM
Dorkman: Amazing link. Thanks so much for sharing. Fascinating stuff!
4/4/2008 7:41:20 PM
...we are not as capable of regeneration as we might like to be, but maybe we just haven't yet learned how to do it. You mean we haven't evolved that ability yet?
We have the genes for it (just inactivated) so I am sure when that ability becomes a necessity for the survival of the species, some mutant child will be born with the ability and it will then eventually become a naturally selected trait for survival.
In the meantime, you'll just have to content yourself with reading Heinlein's Lazarus Long stories.

Grand Archblasphemer of York
"We all know the placebo effect is real"
Yes it is...but it is nowhere near as powerful as you are suggesting. And telling when a patient with cancer their prognosis, no matter how grim, is THE DOCTOR'S JOB! He could get sued and lose his job for lying to them, even if the lie makes them feel better. A doctor is not there to dole out the feel-goods, no matter how much they try to do so anyway...they are there to figure out what is wrong with you, fix it if they can, and tell you about it honestly!
Oh, and testing for regenerating limbs in humans would violate untold number of human rights codes, because THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT ANY MAMMAL CAN DO SO NATURALLY!
Regeneration, as it occurs naturally, is pretty much limited organ tissues, but you cannot regenerate severed limbs through willpower alone or through natural processes.
4/4/2008 7:48:53 PM
How about this:
We'll cut your head, and if you grow it back, you win.
4/4/2008 7:49:18 PM
The competition is on:
Stem Cells vs. Prayer.
Place your bets, please.
4/4/2008 7:51:40 PM
Is there a poll someplace where one can vote for one's favorite dimwit among, say, AV, Supersport, and Carico?
4/4/2008 7:52:38 PM
Dr. Curtis Conners proved that human regeneration is possible!
Then again, he did turn into "The Lizard" and attack Spiderman... but it's possible!
4/4/2008 7:57:28 PM
"Of course the scientific community would never test such a thing."
Nothing stopping you from testing it yourself, stupor...
4/4/2008 8:01:03 PM
I've managed to regrow three spinal columns, so Supersport is completely on to something here.
4/4/2008 8:01:44 PM
I guess I'll have to try prayer. I've tried everything else, but my middle leg still doesn't reach the floor.
4/4/2008 8:03:20 PM
"Granted we are not as capable of regeneration as we might like to be, buy maybe we just haven't yet learned how to do it."
Dude, you're not a Time Lord, accept it and move on.
4/4/2008 8:17:28 PM
That explains why people apparently healed so well in the middle ages(sarcasm). Super, haven't you learn, at this stage, that in science people don't pull opinions, they RESEARCH?.
