there's just small things on the planet that could -easily- change depending on your beliefs.
"Okay, prove it to me."
I believe in the great flood, so I believe the grand canyon was formed from it.
"Go on."
There is little to no erosion between the layers and this makes sense with them being laid at the same time.
"Last time I checked, there was a vast amount of erosion between multiple upon multiple layers."
Scientists say it was a tiny amount of water and millions of years, I think it was a huge amount of water and mere moments.
"If that were the case, every river system would be like the Grand Canyon. Besides, I wouldn't call the Colorado River a tiny amount of water."
I mean...look at Mount St. Helens! Friggin thing gave us several hundred feet of sediment in DAYS.
"Just due to a single event called an eruption, or you people refer to as'GOD's little misfit because gays are having sex.' Last time I check, most of the so called sediment was mostly ash and rock that accumulated several feel, not hundreds. Also, most sediment that comes from rivers such as the Mississippi and Colorado came from more than one source of water that accumulated from different mountains due to ice."
Yet had nobody been around to record it, it's almost a given the losers today would be telling you it happened millions of years ago as well.
"Ummmm, if you're talking about the Mt. St. Helens eruption then yes they recorded it. Geology in general, there are different methods to determine the age of rock formations by measuring the amount of uranium embeeded within the mountains themselves. Sedimentary is a little more easier to measure due to the layers that accumulate over time."
Another example with the flood is fossils.
"Oh noes, not fossils."
Most scientists say they must take millions of years to fossilize, but most Christians don't (because most believe the flood caused them).
"If that was the case, them there wouldn't be fossils in the first place."
Unfortunately for them though, boots, clocks, and other fairly modern items have been found fossilized in the past years.
"Then why haven't they found any clocks lodged within the eye socket of a T-Rex? Most of the stuff found is above the actual layers (way above) the excavation of dinosaur bones. Besides, fossilization doesn't work like that since you know, materialistic items made by man are not made of bone."
In some cases like the last two, it's rather unfair to say the Bible is wrong because it doesn't match with science--because it does!
"No it doesn't."
It's just that their theory is the one that gets thrown into the text books because they're the guys who get the final decision.
"And you wonder why you haven't recieved your diploma yet, depending if you ever went to college?"
