Yes, you are certainly showing your lack of knowledge.
Studies have shown that condoms fail in approx. 20 to 35% of the time due to pinprick holes, etc.
Condoms cannot prevent a virus from passing through.

Some real statistics .
Quick summary:
Condoms fail due to either breakage or slippage. Three studies are reported with the breakage / slippage rates of
0.28% / 0.63%, 3.4% / 1.1% and 1.34% / 2.05%. This gives a total failure rate of 0.91%, 4.5% and 3.39% respectively.
Meanwhile Old_Trapper's failure rate remains constant at 100%.
Well... if... you... have... holes... in... the... condom... of course they aren't going to be as effective!
If you use condoms consistently and properly, they have a great track record. But people like to outright lie about their effectiveness because they think 'sex is bad!'
Somebody has to say it...
If you have a pin prick, then the reliability of condoms is the least of your worries, Trap.
Legit Citation needed! Slippage, or breakage is the reason they fail. Improper storage plays a part too. And when used correctly, condoms do prevent STDs.
But if there was a choice between abstinence only, or using condoms, pass the condoms!
What is your source? Who did those studies and where can I see the data gathered from them?
I'd like to volunteer my personal experience with condoms to those who did your studies. You see, until I was with my husband, I'd never had sex without a condom. Ever. I never got pregnant. I never got a sexually transmitted disease. My success rate, with various partners over the course of 10 years from my first experience to the last boyfriend before my husband, was 100%. And even my husband and I used condoms until quite a while into our relationship because we are not stupid.
So, um, maybe you should do a bit more research on those supposed studies of yours.
"Yes, you are certainly showing your lack of knowledge."
You should talk.
"Studies have shown that condoms fail in approx. 20 to 35% of the time due to pinprick holes, etc."
Bullshit. The World Health Organization says that with "proper use" (as opposed to the typical or standard use) pregnancy rates are about 3% after 12 months.
"Condoms cannot prevent a virus from passing through."
Again, bullshit. According to the World Health Organization, the HIV infection rate among uninfected partners was less than 1% per year with consistent condom use.
To quote Penn Jilette "Having unprotected with a person already infected with HIV offers a 1 in 5 chance of infection. Move to a low risk partner and use a condom and that chance moves to 1 in 500 000 000, in other words, never!"
So who's wandering around putting pinprick holes in condoms?
Other than that, your post is utter fundie fear mongering bullshit.
Confused?
