What do you think about SB 777?
This is a bill that says that school kids will no longer go by the sex they were born with but instead with their "gender identity." This is a very scary thing for America's children and I think parents need to step up to the plate. This bill says that if a school boy feels like a girl on the inside he will be able to go into the girls bathrooms and locker rooms freely. This is going to cause a lot of rapes and other sexual assaults. Boys will now have the freedom to come and go in the locker rooms of the girls for their own sexual pleasure. Don't you know how uncomfortable that is for the girls? Parents should be teaching their kids that if the boy has a penis, he is a boy. And if a girl has a vagina, she is a girl. Children who have a penis and think they are girls need serious help. The gay and lesbian alliance has pushed this for months and now it's happened. Gender Identity is a DISORDER and we shouldn't be embrassing it. If a child has it he or she needs phsyciatric help.

@ zander8
because the schools would have to build another locker room for that, and they're already over budget (so they say)

Leesha is absolutely right. This will lead to unprecedented levels of rape in girls lockerrooms. In much the same way that allowing homosexual male students to change in the boys' lockerrom has lead to staggering amounts of male-male rape there...oh wait...that never happens either. (Except in crappy works of fiction).

I love it when a second hand piece of political scare bullshit shows up in the hands of a fundie idiot sheep too dumb to read the bill themselves.

I've never understood the reason for gender-seperated bathrooms. I mean, they're completely identical except for urinals. So what are peoples' problem?

A boy that wants to be a girl does not need psychiactric help, they need bigots to get off their ass.
If they are straight, they will in fact go for boys instead of girls, and they're safer in the girl's changing rooms.

"but what if they're gay?" You bitch?

What if the rest of the girls are gay and privately rape each other between class?

You lose.

You managed to prove the point and completely miss it at the same time.

ATCHOO! There must be some straw around, my hay fever is acting up....

Parents should be teaching their kids that if the boy has a penis, he is a boy. And if a girl has a vagina, she is a girl.

No they shouldn't, not if the kid genuinely has GID. What they should do is educate themselves about the issue and support their child.

Gender Identity is a DISORDER and we shouldn't be embrassing it.

So you are for mandatory asexuality? This would probably be hard to enforce...

Yes, Gender Identity DISORDER is a disorder (the Department of Redundancy Department thanks you), but what that means is simply that it causes distress to the persons suffering from it, it doesn't make them dangerous, contagious or anything.

I personally think we should all just save space and make unisex restrooms. Just put everything in stalls and its not like anyone is going to see anyone else's naughty bits.

In a school environment I'm not sure this would be the best choice: I can easily see the girls being unhappy with the boys' bad aim, for example, or the invasion of their conference room, while the boys would complain about the girls taking too much time and monopolizing the stalls. Hearing girls making bathroom noises would probably also be very awkward for teenage boys...

So did the magic voice who told you all this information sound like Rush Limbaugh, Bob Dornan, or Michael Medved? I think your legal scholarship is a tad shaky.

And as far as the issue of gender identity conflict goes...I'd not make such flippant pronouncements on such a complicated issue. But then again, I'm not a fundy.

That's...interesting.

To be completely honest, I'm not sure where I stand on that. I mean, I'm sure that if they were to implement it there'd be some manner of screening process, and it does kind of make sense on one level. On another level, I'm sure that would be awkward for the people who really were that gender.

Definately a curious proposition...but not one I have any real interest or opinion in, sorry.

And hermaphrodites, who are born with both a penis AND a vagina?

Which bathroom do you want THEM to use, Leesha?

Dear idiots who agree with this guy: As a transgirl, I'd like to say that the pain and humiliation of being forced to live as a gender I'm not, is the worst thing I have ever experienced. I'd rather spend a week with my emotionally, physically and sexually abusive brother than do that for one more day. That may give you the tiniest hint of how bad it is. If you advocate forcing that on transpeople, then I hope you rot in hell. Or wake up trans. If everyone was like you, the latter would be worse.

See that plume of smoke? That's the point of the bill achieving escape velocity and zooming over your head into outer space.
