Both of my dogs have a thing for walls. Each has their own particular favorite. One sits on the stairs and focuses intently on the wall of the landing. He will sit there for an hour, not moving and just staring. Once in a while, he lets out a bark; whether to let us know that he is still alive, or because he sees a ghost in the wall, or because he is a neurotic dog, we don't really know.
The other one lies on the floor in the family room and stares at the wall next to the aquarium. Not the aquarium itself, and not the wall it is up against, but the wall next to it. We used to think there were shadows from the aquarium that interested her, but we've never actually seen any. So, we just accept that, as a dog, her mind works in ways ours will never understand and we let her do her thing.
Obviously, your argument fails, because why would your god be in my house? I'm a heretic, after all. If god were here, he'd be proving all of you fundies wrong in your belief that you are special. If he's here, often, making my dogs stare at walls, then he obviously doesn't give a flying crap about you fundies and your worship of him and he'd rather be here, keeping my dogs quiet and happy.
My dogs are more important to your god than you are.
