My family throw me in the nut ward for teaching his second coming about 5 years back.. They where thinking I was crazy thinking that christ would come back and the world would come to a end and his new kingdom would be set up.. I try to get the message to them.. I can only pray now for my family that they would see the truth.. It hurts knowing they maybe left behind.. And it truly makes me sick that people think your crazy for trusting and telling them what will happen and was written in the word.. but we can only pray after we warn them.. it up to god to open there eyes..

It probably wasn't the belief in a second coming that got you "throw in," it was probably something like neglecting personal hygiene while preaching, staying up all night pacing and muttering to yourself, or maybe harassing strangers with preaching.
You can believe whatever you want, but if your behavior crosses the sanity line you can bet that any family member who really cares about you will want it checked out.

In order to become 'thrown in a nut ward', or as the rest of us in the year of 2008 like to call it, 'committed to a psychiatric hospital', you have to be a danger to yourself or others, which in turn means you need treatment before you hurt yourself or someone else.
Thinking about it, it's just as likely this guy's making the story up to oil the 'We're being persecuted!' bandwagon. That's how it reads to me. That or he's lying about how he really wound up in the hospital in the first place.

What are you telling them will happen? That there will be a tribulation, then a rapture and then 1,000 years until judgment day (post-trib, pre-millennialism)? Or maybe the rapture, then the tribulation, then 1,000 years to judgment day (pre-trib, post-millennialism)? Or one of the other competing wacko theories?
You know what the problem is. They are probably Christians who probably go to a real church and try to read and follow the Bible. Your are a fundie member of a death cult who reads quasi-bible tracts and tries to follow a non-scriptural fantasy. The only rapture-like incident mentioned in the Bible is in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 :
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever."
Note that there is no mention as to whether this event will come before the Tribulation described in Revelation, or after the Tribulation, or after the 1000 years of peace following the Tribulation, or at any other time.
If you think that YOU have special information that others in your family do not, that's a combination of arrogance and craziness, so the asylum was the right place for you. If it's "up to god", it's time for you to butt out.
