Quote# 3814

A good friend of mine is an exorcist, and if it doesn't exist then he must be insane. There is no evidence whatsoever of him being insane, so it must exist.

That is real logical. I would say the evidence he is insane is that he is an exorcist.

I doubt that you have a friend who is an exorcist because you people hate catholics. Just because David Copperfielf make the Statue of Liberty disappear, doesn't mean it's really gone.

He's not insane, just fucking stupid.

2/7/2007 3:06:50 AM

Nope - your friend is insane.

There is plenty of evidence to show that \"demonic possession\" is a psychological disorder. Just the same way that many \"miracles\" are caused by hysterical belief.

The mind is a powerful thing.

There is no evidence whatsoever of him being insane

Well, he is your friend...

That pretty much says it all as far as I'm concerned.

Hawker Hurricane

Other possibilities include...

1. He's a con artist.
2. He's a liar.
3. You're a liar.
4. You're no judge of sanity.

Doctor Whom

You could make the same argument for a friend of mine who is a feng shui consultant.

2/7/2007 4:18:52 AM

Blue Lithium

There is no evidence whatsoever of him being insane,

Ah. Argumentum Ad Ignorantium.

Hearing voices is evidence for being insane, they don't have to be in HIS head.

Your friend is either as insane as you are, or he likes fleecing insane/stupid people who are gullible enough to pay him for an exorcism.

5/13/2008 8:56:45 PM

Circular logic! Facinating!

5/13/2008 9:27:12 PM

Ah, good old C.S.Lewis arguments. You're forgetting a key element.

1. Liar
2. Mad
3. Telling the truth

Not that little old C.S. remembered to add in 4. Misinformed/Mistaken.

I do not value a slave's assessment of anyone's mental health.

Philbert McAdamia

There is no evidence whatsoever of him being insane,

As opposed to HIS friend...

I don't believe in God or an eternal blissful afterlife bathed in his perfect love.

If he does exist then to pass up heaven to spend forever and a night in a lake of perpetually burning demonic fire would be insane. I have a card that says I am not insane (in crayon), therefore I am not insane. Therefore God must not exist.

(Actually the card says I am not "insan", I'm afraid I ate the rest of the crayon before I finished it.)

6/17/2008 2:33:50 PM

MY good friend is a muslim. There is no evidence of him being deluded, so allah MUST exist. You fail at logic.

1/8/2009 5:45:50 PM

He might not be insane. He might just be taking advantage of stupid fuckwads like you.

1/8/2009 6:14:10 PM

If he does it for money, he's a con man. Just like most preachers.

1/8/2009 6:40:30 PM

Except that he thinks he's an Exorcist.

"This is my friend he's an insane exorcist"

"Is there any other kind?"

"Yeah, sorry, that is redundant"

"Just call him an exorcist from now on"

"Yeah, or fuckhead"

1/8/2009 8:48:12 PM

Exorcist? Tell him that the Millennium Earl will be seeing him soon, human. Also, "SlaveofChrist"? Why do all of them have such kinky names?

3/29/2012 9:59:43 PM

Logic fail. The devil exists or your friend is insane are not the only possibilities, although there's a good chance of the latter being true.

3/29/2012 10:30:12 PM

He believes he can do battle with invisible monsters that live inside people around him! How is that not insane?

Filin De Blanc

When I was younger we had an exorcist speak at our school. I kinda wish I'd had the presence of mind to point out what a load of horseshit it was.
