Belts are a bit severe arn't they? & those "scenario's" are a bit OTT. hitting a child does not guarantee a succesful child, nor does not hitting them guarantee a child who will be a litle shit.

there areother ways to punish a child, though i am not against very VERY mild hitting provided it is for something the child should be greatly warned about, like biting other children or sticking forks in electric sockets. Not to say i'm suggesting you pull out a belt & beat them, more like, you give them a rough tap on the hand.

& all my cousin does is hit her kids... they're accustomed to it now, & they're some of the worst fuckers i've ever known, like i said, there are other ways to punish children, & shouting & hitting only does absolutely fuck-all

Since we're just spinning our wheels here, what about...

1987 - Billy, 8, accidentally breaks a neighbor's car window. His Dad talks to him about the duties and responsibilities of a human being in a civilized society. Dad leaves Billy to decide what he should do.

Billy's Dad approaches the neighbor and gives him a check to replace the car window. Dad and neighbor agree on a course of action.

After some soul-searching, Billy approaches the neighbor and offers to pay for the car window. As agreed with the Dad, the neighbor tells Billy that, if he would mow the lawn and trim the hedges every week for three months, the neighbor would accept that as recompense.

Billy grows up, goes to West Point, then goes to war. He now dreams of eventually getting a law degree and, maybe, running for public office.

Different characters, similar scenario. Unlike Randy's wank, this really happened.
