they didn't have any written language. they didn't even invent the wheel. they didn't have horses or iron or bronze. they were ignorant savages by definition. as were my european ancestors before either rome invaded or they were baptized. they were also human beings who had equal dignity with their european counterparts.

more advanced cultures and religions always win in the end. europeans had the duty to civilize and evangelize ignorant savages as did the apostles when they went to baptize all nations.

Yes, I'm sure that the Native Americans profoundly appreciated the generous condescension and self-righteousness of racist monsters who burned their villages, killed their families, and raped their women or sold them into slavery.

Not all Native Americans were nomadic. You're thinking of the Plains Indians. Besides, their concept of land ownership was not the same as Europeans because to them, it was impossible. What they called their lands, they saw as part of the Earth, with everything attached: plants, animals, sky, water. So how could one own the whole Earth? Their egalitarian view of nature does not merit contempt; in fact, it merits some respect, at the very least.

And in the war of the Pacific, the US forces had recruited Apache 'Codetalkers', as their language was the only one the Japanese had no concept of, thus couldn't understand. They were partnered with a white man who was their protector - but if the worst came to the worst, and the capture of said Indian was inevitable, they had orders to kill him, to prevent their language becoming known to the Japanese.

So as you can see Dee Dee King, those 'ignorant savages' were vital in the US fighting the Japanese in WWII. Thus ensuring your way of life as you know it today.
