Quote# 38418

What do you think about the self-proclaimed Christians that are out canvassing for Barack Obama?

I pray that I do not harden my heart for them, as I work with a few, and go to church with a few. But, I just do not understand their reasoning, if they are true Christians.

Because he's a negro, see, and negroes aren't true Christians. It's not their fault, really.

Hey, they're out there busting their rumps to help the rapture along and you're stitting there criticizing them?? Shame! Don't you want to see JESUS, already??

No, a true Christian would go to their pastor and ask who they should vote for. Once they've been told they cast the vote they've been instructed to, and bleat about how the land of the free is God's country.

Have you tried asking them what their reasoning is, or are you doing the time honoured religious trick of guessing the answer from a vague first observation, without making any serious attempt to gather further, more detailed information? If you took the latter approach, your confusion is at least understandable, but you're an idiot either way.

What's to understand? They're Christians, backing a Christian nominee for President.

Seems simple enough to me.

Well, uh...

Maybe they think he'd be a good president.

Of course one is not a christian if they believe differently than you. We all know that.

I think we've already concluded that HisAlways is a racist bitch.

Obama is offering a more Christ like vision than your Republican candidate.

@Dark_Lord_Prime: Christians acting like Christians and supporting other Christians would be a positive and sensible thing. This is why fundies don't do it!

"What do you think about the self-proclaimed Christians that are out canvassing for Barack Obama?"

So do you now have to be proclaimed to be a Christian now? What's the difference between a self proclaimed and just plain proclaimed Christian??

Why shouldn't self-proclaimed Christians vote for a Christian candidate like Obama? Are you advocating that they vote for an ..ATHEIST?

They should vote for a Kahlesseist.

Reminds me of that anti-Obama T-shirt I saw on cafepress that implied that being a Christian requires you to oppose gay marriage and abortion, and that's it

The reasoning goes a little like this:

"Maybe I should mind my own damn business concerning trivial shit like gay marriage, and focus on important things like the economy, health care, the environment, education and all the other things that improve the quality of life for everyone. Also, I've seen lot's of studies that abortion rates are considerably lower when Democrats are in office since the higher quality of life often makes abortions unnecessary."
