when the brain starts to vibrate in the 40hz region "spirits or entities" are able to come take control if you allow them to
not much has been studies about the 40hz vibrational state, because it's more common to aboriginal, shamanic, African, south American , tribal peoples etc, who play drums, and didgereedoos and dance for days and days
normal transcendental meditation states are observed in westerners around 7.83 hz, the same as the earth itself, and quartz crystal

1. No... Harmonic frequencies DO NOT WORK LIKE THAT AT ALL.
2. Aborigines, Shamanic, African, Tribals all have large links to music in their culture so play it. My granny being tribal approves of me playing the violin despite not understanding it. Its a vital way of keeping the tribe together.
3. Most south americans listen to "latin" style music which is heavily spanish influenced. I do think they should invent a Dance called the penetrada though... It would make sex look like church!
4. The last bit makes no sense. YOUR BRAIN DOES NOT VIBRATE.
I wonder what the resonance frequency of the human brain is... It would make my sonic cannon slightly more awesome if I could liquefy my opponent's brains.
Brains do not vibrate.
If your brain is resonating at 40Hz, you probably get medical treatmen fast.
Somehow I think the earth's natural resonance is way lower than 7.83 Hz. Not to mention it's so big you would need insane amounts of energy to even get a wave all the way around it.
[What am I thinking, I'm totally forgetting earthquakes!]
Still, it's way lower than 7.83 Hz.
Also, although material affects speed of sound, and thus, resonant frequency, the frequency also depends on its length, so only some quartz crystals would resonate at that frequency.
The Brain usually works around the 40hz state. A lot of studies have been done on it. These are the gamma waves.
40-Hz coherent magnetic activity in the awake and in rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep

Synchronous activity at about 40Hz appears to be involved in binding sensory inputs into the single, unitary object we perceive.

I can't find anything on the 7.83 hz range that isn't some sort of new age website. It would also be nice if you people could at least decide on what range this actually is.
Edit:
Okay found a reasonable page on Brain Waves.
Theta waves (4-8 hz) are predominant during the transition stage between waking and sleeping.

I don't know it this guy is pro spirits or anti spirits, but I think the (highly muddled) point is that sound and music in certain frequency ranges (and possibly rhythmic combinations) affect human consciousness. Research on this phenomena is rather new and has yet to be able to draw any concrete conclusions. Personally, I think there's something to that sort of thing. This guy's almost nonsensical, though.
Why in the world would this belong in RSTDT or CTSTDT?
@ joe schmoe: The mostly killed off native peoples sure aren't. Much the same for the indigenous peoples of North America.
yes, and IPv7 will vibrate at the frequency of the Earth.
When IPv7 is implemented I'll be online all the time.
Wow. I have quite a few New Age leanings, and even *I* think this is a boat load of crazy.
Brain vibrating? Uh...yeeeeeah. O.o
By "vibrate", I think capacop is referring to BRAIN WAVES .
There are five frequency ranges of brain waves:
* Delta (3 Hz and below)
* Theta (4 - 7 Hz)
* Alpha (8 - 12 Hz)
* Beta (12 - 30 Hz) and
* Gamma (26 100 Hz)
There was a period during the 1960s or 1970s when it was trendy, among New Agers and other woo-woo folks, to believe that getting your brain waves to be at the same frequency as the alleged "resonant frequency of the Earth" would give you some kind of magic powers.
capacop seems still to be following this old trend.
Thanks, Tracer and Antichrist.
Yes, this is woo where he starts gibbering about spirits, but lets understand what someone's point is before we start mocking him.
Being ignorantly dogmatic is what we mock, not what we do!

Admit it . . . you just wrote this because you were dying to use "didgereedoos" in a sentence, weren't you?
"40hz vibrational state, because it's more common to aboriginal, shamanic, African, south American , tribal peoples etc, who play drums, and didgereedoos and dance for days and days"
and from wiki...
"A gamma wave is a pattern of brain waves, associated with perception and consciousness. Gamma waves are produced when masses of neurons emit electrical signals at the rate of around 40 times a second (40 hertz or Hz)"
That actually explain a lot. A fundie is rare conscious and perceive things. Translation, they live in a constant state of dream...

How many times do we have to tell you? Don't put Mommy's toys in your ears!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
