Quote# 385

[After being called on out-of-context quotes and asked to present actual evidence against evolution or refute the evidence for evolution]

I will use quotes from expert authority any time I wish. My quotes are far more accurate and revealing than anything you have posted. You're the one who desperately needs to raise your level on several counts, not just debate.

There's a difference between "Quoting" and "Quote Mining".
The former conveys the actual meaning of the statement. The latter deceives the person you're talking to into thinking that the person you're Quote Mining agrees with you when they do not.

I want someone to make a quotemine of Jesus Christ saying christianity is a load of rubbish and shove it in this guy's face.

<<I will use quotes from expert authority any time I wish.>>

I have no doubt of that

<<My quotes are far more accurate and revealing than anything you have posted.>>

Accuracy is not the same thing as validity.

<<You're the one who desperately needs to raise your level on several counts, not just debate.>>

I applaud you for not concluding that sentence by saying "nyah nyya!" I know it took a lot of restraint on your part.

Ah, 'taken out of context'. The standard membrane-thin excuse used by fundies, when their own 'faith'-based reasoning is found wanting. I guess that's why the likes of, say, Pat Robertson daren't challenge Richard Dawkins in the Oxford/Cambridge Debating Societies, on worldwide TV, in a winner takes all competition: if Robertson can prove Creationism (to the satisfaction of the university debating society members who get to decide either way - and both Robertson & Dawkins sign a legally binding document to that effect; that both parties must abide by their decision), then Dawkins must convert to Christianity. If Dawkins proves otherwise, however...:

Then Robertson must - there and then - renounce his own beliefs, and become even more of a hyper-Atheist than Dawkins is, and use all his media resources in the US to completely annihilate right-wing Fundamentalist Christianity worldwide.

There. That raises the debate on all levels. Your call, ChristianSoldier. >:D
