I love him as a President. I am sure history will treat him well. He was handed some of the hardest 8 years I can imagine. WWII is about the only parallel I can see, in terms of trouble, since the Civil War.

The hatred of this man is just odd. Good for him cracking on all the other would be's. I can only imagine where we would be had one of the dems, now running, been in the hot seat for W's term

A few thousand soldiers would still be alive, it's entirely possible that the 9/11 attacks would have been stopped by a President that actually heeded the warnings, many of the people who drowned after Katrina might have been saved, the economy would be in better shape, it's a safe bet that gas wouldn't cost over $4 a gallon, and who knows what else.

Some Random Guy

Gas would probably still be expensive due to taxes - but I bet the money would be spent on getting energy-independent!

He wasn't handed 8 hard years; it was his hand that caused them.

$11 trillion surplus, peace in the Middle East, gas $1.50 a gallon, US poverty eliminated, Prescott Bush's money confiscated and returned to the rightful owners in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Austria, Dick Cheney in Guantanamo and Rupture Ready off-line.
In a word - Paradise.

Yes, Bush is hilarious. Wait, what?

Darwin

Well, most of the comedy writers will miss the guy.

And we all know Dubyah's "deft" grasp of the English language.....he's almost as bad as Arnold Schwarzenegger (though Arnold might be getting better with it). Bush looks like Alfred E. Newman. Has anyone also noticed that in the 1970's the younger, 30-something Dubyah looked an awful lot like Ted Bundy? Look it up. Google "George W Bush, Ted Bundy" there's a site that shows it. Scary.

Oh, He was TRYING to be funny! He just wanted us to think he was an idiot. I see now!

a mind far far away

President Bush's "sense of humor" was unintentional. His lack of understanding of the English language was the only thing funny about him. He wasn't handed 8 hard years. He created 8 hard years for himself, and for the rest of the nation. History will treat him like the fucking moron he is.

@Michael:

I doubt that... But I guess America could be in a better situation.

Sigh... You guys really are blind.

anti-nonsense

Four years later, everybody (still) hates Bush, for fucking up the economy, among many other things.

Dubbya created 8 hard years, not only for himself and the nation, but for the whole world. That's part of why we hate him.

If you had had someone actually intending to do some "presidenting", you might now be sending people to Mars, not just probes.
