What is the point of trusting in evolution if you cant apply it into your own life? Wow you say you proved humans evolved from apes. so wat. who cares, are you going to evolve into another animal or something? if not then who cares if we cant apply it into our own lives.

I think he's right, unless you're moving on to a career in biology or a related disipline it's not going to do much for you to understand it. Then again that's why i wonder why it bothers them so much, it's only a small part of a science course, a general overview with maybe some recommended reading for those who may want to persue it. Why would that nessitate total homeschooling or control over schools unless they just want to seperate their children from the world entirely?.....did i just answer my own question?
Evolution helps to answer one of the oldest questions of all, and one that nearly everyone has asked- who am I and where do I come from? I did some genealogical research and found my roots back to Ireland and Québec, with the Census listing nearly everyone as a mill worker or a weaver. It doesn’t do anything in my day-to-day life, but it is interesting-once you start digging you can’t stop. Evolution extends the family tree back even further.
I could apply it to my everyday life, but involuntarily castrating other people is immoral and not really something I'm prepared to do.
Although, really, what has Creationism ever done for anybody either?

Maybe you're thinking of theism, and I submit to you that theism and evolution can both be your beliefs.
You owe your life to applications of evolutionary biology: improved crops and livestock, and vaccinations.

Study of evolution has a lot of applications for ones own life. When you accept that we evolved from earlier primates, then this gives very valuable insight into our psychology. What motivates us, what do our emotions mean?
This is very important in understanding how religion works. Once one understands that evolution conditioned us for living in small packs with an alpha male at the top, and that the human mind evolved into making simplified models of its surroundings in order to make quick decisions in an uncertain, hostile world, this explains a lot how evangelist preachers trap their sheep, what "faith", "spirit" and "god" really are, why religious people defend so stubbornly their alleged "eternal, unchanging truth", and a lot more.
This point alone makes the study of human evolution very important: To become aware when religion wants to trap us by exploiting psychological characteristics of the human mind, which have their origin in our evolutionary development.
Well, I think what he's trying to say is that the ToE imposes no moral standard on its believers (like most religions do, or SHOULD, in any case), but that's not what it's for. It's a scientific theory, dumba**, it's not supposed to tell you what morals you should have.
