[Replying to 'so they would both die']Yes. God would want that to happen before he would want a mother to kill her baby just to save her own life. It doesn't matter if the baby would die anyway. God can take a life. It belongs to Him. He could save the woman's life without her having to kill her baby.

After I was born, my mother became pregnant for a 2nd time. My mother has a genetic defect which caused her 2nd child to not develop properly. The doctors gave her a choice when she was 6/7 months along:

1. Abort the baby

2. Carry the baby to term, and risk dying yourself (oh, and the baby will still die if you birth it).

So in both cases, the baby was going to die. Nothing at that time could save it. My mother could abort it and save her own life, or carry it to term, watch it die, and risk dying herself, leaving me (her first son) and her husband alone.

She chose to abort. My dad agreed. When I was told about this whole scenario when I was 15, I agreed too. If the baby will die regardless, why risk the mother's life, when it's possible she could have another chance to get pregnant again and possibly give birth to another healthy human being?
