In another post you said you were a Christian who became an agnostic. Sorry, I don't buy it... it doesn't work that way.

Erm... Since when? Is there some new law of physics that's been recently determined? I guess I need to start reading NewScientist again... So what's this phenomenon called, Conservation of Faith, or something? Not that it'll do anyone much good, since the Second Law of Thermodynamics says that Faith must always be converted from more useful to less useful forms... Oh, I get it, so according to this new law, rather than Christians converting to atheism, atheists will convert to Christianity. Well now, isn't that a shame.
Oh wait, no it's not, because this is the real world, and faith is not at all related to physics. In fact, I think it could benefit from a closer relationship with physical reality.
Sorry to bust your little rosy bubble, joelch2, but yes, it does work exactly like that. People start to question all the contradictions found in most faiths (not just Christianity) and their doubts get stronger and stronger over time.
Voila: an agnostic is created.
Yeah, I started a theist, then a deist, then an agnostic, and finally an agnostic atheist.
May the individual you're talking too find happiness in atheism eventually, because there isn't any to be had in most fundamentalist religions at all.
Ahem...at age 8, I was a Christian, along with the rest of my family. At age 9-10, I was agnostic. At age 11-present, I'm an agnostic atheist. Fail.
Confused?
