Ya know...I saw a lot of this when I was over there. I was with a Ranger Chalk so we were a higher breed of solider...I was fortunate to have a squad of atheists or free thinkers. We got shit done, earned the respect of the non combatants and never once talked about gawd. These types really do make things worse.

Active-duty here. If the chain-of-command knew this was going on, it's my bet that they'd seriously discipline those involved. These guys are literally risking their own, and other Marines', lives with this shit.
In the course of the discipline, I'd also question those guys to find out who put them up to it. They didn't come up with this on their own.
This would be something that would have the CO's attention in any unit I've ever seen.

I doubt that's what they're trying to do. They're probably just too stupid, or too brainwashed into thinking that no bad thing can ever come of endleslly preaching at people about their religion, to realise that that's exactly what the end result will be, intentional or not.
Anyway, this is a direct violation of separation of church and state - a soldier on duty is an instrument and representative not of himself but of his country, so any behaviour like this would constitute a direct endorsement of christianity by the American government.
