Quote# 40256

I think that's very possible. I also think that it is very possible that the church will be in heaven as the 70th week will be under way. If we are still here in 10 years because the rapture has not occurred yet, I think life will be very different for us than it is now. I think home schooling will be illegal in all 50 states and homsexual marriages will be the law of the land. I believe that the only churches operating "above ground" will be those that have been licensed by the state and will not be allowed to criticize other religious groups, alternative lifestyles or preach Jesus as the only Way. I believe sharing Christ will result in losing our children, confiscation of property and prison terms for the undeterred. I think it's also likely that Christians will have to wear or carry an identifier, so people will know to avoid us and employers will not hire us. I believe forced euthanasia will be the law of the land for the elderly, the mentally ill, the physically handicapped and anyone the state considers to be a "useless eater". Wild weather will become the norm and a day without a huge disaster will be a rarity.

I believe you are a total nutjob with a persecution complex and a vivid imagination.

"If we are still here in 10 years because the rapture has not occurred yet, I think life will be very different for us than it is now. I think home schooling will be illegal in all 50 states and homsexual marriages will be the law of the land."

Sounds ok by me. Educational standards will rise and a minority group will gain equal rights. I'm not sure how you see this as being bad.

"I believe that the only churches operating "above ground" will be those that have been licensed by the state and will not be allowed to criticize other religious groups, alternative lifestyles or preach Jesus as the only Way."

Separation of Church and State. You know, that whole rule you guys bitch and moan about and show no understanding of? Yeah, they put that in there to protect you from shit like that happening.

"I believe sharing Christ will result in losing our children, confiscation of property and prison terms for the undeterred. I think it's also likely that Christians will have to wear or carry an identifier, so people will know to avoid us and employers will not hire us."

Congratulations. You'd finally be able to scream "PERSECUTION!!" and actually have a valid case. Until something like this actually happens, please refrain from saying you're being persecuted for inane shit.

"I believe forced euthanasia will be the law of the land for the elderly, the mentally ill, the physically handicapped and anyone the state considers to be a "useless eater"."

Someone tried that about 60 years ago. It didn't work out so well for him.

"Wild weather will become the norm and a day without a huge disaster will be a rarity."

Stop reading apocalyptic fiction. That includes Revelation.

Yeah, because historically right-wing nutters have not been protected by the first amendment.

Actually I'd hate homeschooling being illegal; my parents homeschooled me and I loved it so much more than my two years of public schooling. Although they weren't (and still aren't!) religious fanatics who are excited about armageddon.

As a theme for a dystopian sci-fi paperback in a Christian bookstore, this idea could be modestly successful in fundie circles. As a reflection of where society will actually go, however...no. Just no.

Grow the fuck up and stop being so paranoid. Or you could off yourself right now so you never have to worry. Pick one.

Interesting that your first priority is your right to criticize things you don't agree then followed by preaching salvation through Christ.

Telling...

This doesn't seem all that out of line considering that it's pretty much what you fundies have been pushing for as far as homosexuals, atheists, adulterers, and fornicaters are concerned.

You must have some set of balls on you to complain about possible future harrassment when your infallible holy book condones the murder of gays and adulterers.

Wait... isn't this a full description of what you want for all religions besides Christianity? ...and that would be why you assume we'd want to do the same for you.

Just like a liar always assumes everyone else is lying to them, Christians always assume everyone else is trying to persecute them. It kinda makes sense.

It looks like Blue Laser's going to take advantage of Price Style's already low, low prices on paper towels and grout cleaner and use all the savings to make a button that will make it snow at the beach!

I think that's very possible. I also think that it is very possible that the church will be in heaven as the 70th week will be under way.

Yes, yes, 70th biblical week and then the rapture; so get raptured already!

If we are still here in 10 years because the rapture has not occurred yet, I think life will be very different for us than it is now. I think home schooling will be illegal in all 50 states

Considering how the fundie's homeschooling obsession is dumbing down the U.S., I wouldn't blame anyone for making such a law, but don't worry my atheistic fantasies are unlikely to come to pass. I'd at least require homeschoolers to meet current educational standards, and if they don't they'd have to send their kids to the public schools. There also would be regular testing of homeschooled children, especially in the sciences.

and homsexual marriages will be the law of the land.

OH THE HORROR!!!!!!

Yet, I have a feeling that heterosexual marriages will also still be legal.

I believe that the only churches operating "above ground" will be those that have been licensed by the state and will not be allowed to criticize other religious groups,
alternative lifestyles or preach Jesus as the only Way.

You say this as if it were a bad thing; We might actually catch up with the secular Scandinavian countries. The fact that my ancestors came from there, along with the thought of the U.S. becoming as secular as them just might thrill me straight down to my toenails. Besides a church is a money making business and should probably be licensed to make it harder for hucksters to set up shop, as it were. Tax them too, especially those absurd megachurches.

I believe sharing Christ will result in losing our children, confiscation of property and prison terms for the undeterred.

No that's just the paranoia talking, time to put on your tinfoil hat, take your meds, or whatever...

I think it's also likely that Christians will have to wear or carry an identifier, so people will know to avoid us and employers will not hire us.

See response above.

I believe forced euthanasia will be the law of the land for the elderly, the mentally ill, the physically handicapped and anyone the state considers to be a "useless eater".

This seems dangerously close to a Godwin, but I didn't actually see the words "nazi" or "Hitler" so I can't be sure.

Wild weather will become the norm and a day without a huge disaster will be a rarity.

Just what planet are you living on? Here on Earth wild weather and disasters are fairly common.
