I have a question....I don't read anything, but the bible because I love God so much and I don't want to offend him....but I watching a movie...and I didn't realize it, but it ended up being about a family who knew the man who wrote the book of mormon...what is this book about? what does it say? I know that it IS NOT from God...in the bible, it says to add nothing and take nothing away from it, so I know that this is a false book....but I'm curious as to what it says...just like I was curious about the quoran...I don't and will never believe it, but I just wanted to know what is so different about it...did this man say that God gave him more to add to the bible? ...or did he rewrite the bible? I believe that the devil has angels...and these angels fooled him into thinking it was from God....the same with the quran...the devil will do anything to get people away from the bible...anyway, what do mormons believe...what is different about the book of mormon? thanks!

And what's with not wanting to offend god if you read something besides the bible? Are you worried you'll get struck by lightning if you open up a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird ? Will a flood destroy your home if you happen to peek inside Jane Eyre ? Will your loved ones perish in an earthquake if you find yourself interested in Nine Stories ?

Is your faith so weak that you can't even look at a book without fear that it will pull you away from Christianity? How can you live like that? You want to know whats in the book of mormon, pick it up, read it, then you'll know. I've read the Koran, it didn't make me convert to Islam. Although reading the bible did make me reject Christianity.

I'm almost positive that because God created us to be curious, intelligent, ambitious, imaginative, and creative that he wanted us to explore those traits. Movies, books, dancing, drinking, closing doors, petting dogs, shaking hands with people of other faiths or of no faith-- they are NOT SIN ASSHOLE. God doesn't sit idly by with a pad and pen to mark every wrong step. He probably wants you to not be stupid.

If you search hard enough, you'll find hundreds of web sites that explain why their church's interpretation of the Bible is right and everyone else's is wrong. That's why Christianity is divided into hundreds of different sects, each thinking the other is full of it on some biblical point or another.

Let's see--the Book of Mormon is about a farm boy who teams up with Sasquatch to fight the corrupt Boss Hogg who wants to steal the Hope Diamond. In the middle of the book there's an extremely cool sequence where farm boy and Bigfoot take their souped-up Trans-Am to Talledega Speedway and race against Frankenstein's Monster, Emmanuel Lewis, a gay pirate, and the ghost of John Quincy Adams. They also go to California and save this really hot porno chick from a cybernetic giraffe with rabies.
It's a good book! Put down the damn Bible and check it out!
I can vouch that the "Book of Mormon" is not a false book.
It has a pages,writing on those pages, a binding, and covers.
That describes a real book.

That part of the Bible that you quote, about adding to or taking away, is from the BOOK of Revelation, which wasn't a part of the BOOK you call the Bible until over 300 years after Jesus died. And even then it almost didn't get into the Bible.

If you want to know what the Book of Mormon is, PICK UP A COPY AT THE LIBRARY AND READ IT, you dimwit! You could probably even find an online version. It really annoys me when people admit to not knowing something, but they criticize it, anyway. Would it kill them to educate themselves on a subject BEFORE forming an opinion about it?? Oh, no, that would "offend God." If there is a God, how could it be offended?? How the hell could the creator of everything in the universe be offended by anything we puny humans do, think, or say? If he is that easily offended, then it's time to worship a different god! The Flying Spaghetti Monster is always a good choice.
Does it ever occur to these people that not every "angel" story has to be taken seriously? When they hear of books like the Qu'ran and the Book of Mormon with origins involving angels, they automatically assume it was actually demons in disguise. Here's a crazy idea: neither Muhammed nor Joseph Smith met angels; they just made it up!
Ok, the Book of Mormon is really a hoax and was "written" by some guy reading magic rocks out of a hat, but that doesn't mean you have to be a dick about their religion, seriously. At least we know who wrote their book. Yours, well, who knows.

Wait a minute, he says the Book of Mormon and the Qu'ran are 'garbage' because they're not a part of the 'mainstream' Christian Canon, and yet believes in the Rapture.

The book of mormon , or Book of Mormon , was handed down by an angel named Meroni on a bunch of gold tablets to the founder of Mormonism. The founder copied them to make the book and then the tablets disappeared. Taken back to heaven , buried in a secret cave , or melted down for publishing costs is one of the great mysteries.
Apologies to any real Mormons who have been told something different.
