My dad had a very high blood pressure, but that was only discovered because he had trouble with his eye. Was this a miracle? No, it was a skilled physician, who knew that high blood pressure might cause double vision. Science overtrumps religion, once again.
While it is indeed possible for some lipid metabolism disorders to show up visibly in a blood sample, the lipids are usually triglycerides, not cholesterol (though the first sign of the disorder may well be high cholesterol).
Such disorders, while serious, are rarely fatal these days. But our friend would need to learn some science to know that, and I cant see him cracking open a biochem text anytime soon.
