I'm not sure that's a good thing. Just because the other inmates at the institution don't think your nuttier than a bag of walnuts doesn't mean you should be let out of your straightjacket.

I remember saying something similar when, just prior to being diagnosed as Bipolar, I was Baker Acted and taken to the local bug jug.
I have to admit, I understand this person's argument.
There was a time when I was a True Believer in orgone energy. I really, honestly believed that the reason most people thought it was a bunch of hoo-ha was because most people were emotionally incapable of accepting THE TRUTH of orgone's existence.
And, yes, there were small groups of like-minded folks I could've hung out with. Thank goodness I was too antisocial to do so!
