Yeah I use to think the hoopla over the Beatles was overblown and attributable to the 60's frame of mind. But when you look in-depth at Lennon, actually all of them, they really were a huge part of the downfall of society. Lennon was a complete and total self-absorbed creep and really did believe and intentionally made that statement of "we're more popular than Jesus". McCartney, although slightly less controversial has never demonstrated any concern for a greater cause (considering his influence and wealth), other than vegetarianism, the benefits of pot, and his own glorification. The Larry King interview he and Ringo did was the epitome of ego and justification of the smoke and mirror agenda they took part in.
