I totally understand how you are feeling. I am a public school teacher and believe it or not, the most job satisfaction I have is when I can sneak in that I am a christian to them(the kids, middle school). There is very little self motivation/wanting to learn among many of them. I have applied for another position and hope to get it (Lord willing). Otherwise, I do not see how I am being effective...21 yrs of teaching! I do not think I make a difference with my students anymore.

As a fellow teacher, I am appalled by this. You get the most job satisfaction out of doing something that has absolutely nothing to do with your job? Yeah, it's definitely time for you to get out of the education field, especially if your kids aren't learning even when you have the "power of Jesus" on your side.

Seeing that you, like everyone else on RR, probably suffers from - at least - clinical depression, that's no surprise.
Oh to be a student in this guy's class. I'd drive him mental. Teaching of evolution, prayer in schools, America as a Christian nation, sex ed... You could take all the fundie bugbears about the education system and have them spouted by an actual teacher instead of whiney homeschooling parents and polititians gunning for the fundie vote.
I do not think I make a difference with my students anymore.
You certainly won't make any difference with your students if the greatest satisfaction you can derive from teaching is to "sneak in" a mention of your faith. Why don't you devote some of that energy to laying out your lesson plans?

With you as the teacher, I am not surprised.

That's not "job satisfaction", because that's not doing your fucking job.
Of course you don't, you're trying to sneak religion in like it's a drug and you're smuggling it.
Maybe you ought to teach the course instead.

You should be shot as soon as possible.
Too bad your students are moronic shit.
Hmmmm...how 'bout you take a vacation, reconsider your teaching ability/perception of students, or quit? Because, although kids can be a handful, and seem ungrateful, they can and should be taking something out of your classroom. If they aren't, the problem is with you, and you've got to stop letting your own pining for the end times characterize your assessment of other people and your own teaching abilities.
So you're openly admitting that though you are a teacher, you are not achieving anything in your field and still manage to inject religious propaganda into the public classroom. Now, tell me again why you think this isn't completely backwards.
Trying to "witness" to school children and brainwash them into your nonsense from your position as a public servant and trusted educator?
You should not only be fired, but the parents ought to be able to sue you until you're living like one of the 12 Apostles, shitcake.
Teach them what they need to know, what you're paid to, the other shit's for church.
Honestly, 70% Christian raised (apparently) and they think they need to talk about it in school too.
It would be great if her lunch were late at a restaurant, they didn't get her car fixed or any incovienance to her and said "Oh, I'm sorry, we were busy talking about God, AGAIN!"
Confused?
