And, if the scriptures are false, then who wrote them?

Don't belive me?
Tough. It's a proven fact.

We have PHYSICAL evidence of George Washington, as well as hundreds of contemporaneously created documents, as well as several contemporaneously created paintings.
What PHYSICAL evidence, contemporaneous with Jesus, do you have for him? Not stuff written down a generation later, not paintings made centuries later, not commentaries on those late writings, but physical documentation of his existence, preferably by someone who didn't have a personal stake in his reputation one way or the other. Hey, if you can find ANYTHING, you'll be the hit of archaeological circles for life!

People. Perhaps those who claimed to be the disciples. Perhaps someone else who just made it all up. Doesn't really matter.

I call bullshit.
*Sigh.* Okay, let's go over this one more time. Marcia Brady's friend getting her into trouble by writing "Mrs. Denton... or a hippopotamus?" under her drawing of George Washington is not the only recorded history there is of George Washington .
Oh, yeah, and I'm gonna need that evidence about the bible being true too, at the start of 9:00 class on Monday.
If the Harry Potter series is false, who wrote it? Oh, yeah, someone.
Mere assertion is no proof of truth.
It'd be good proof to see Jesus' signature on some document, or at least a letter or something to a friend...maybe a lock of hair or a postal address. A contemporary portrait. A death mask. Something.
But no. Nichevo, nada, nichts. Just some very interesting philosophy that Hillel the Elder was patently capable of expressing...and a second-hand messianic personality cult, thanks to Saul/Paul.
Evidence of the Bible being true? By what means? The evil science that constantly seeks to strike down the notion that God is responsible for everything ever at all times or the written, documented, correlating multiple accounts of history you just said you do not trust and can't be proven?
No-one ever said that scriptures were false in the sense that they don't exist because nobody wrote them. Someone obviously did write them. It's that we don't believe them that makes them false to us atheists.
I think we can take it as a proven fact that George Washington lived. There is no evidence whatsoever that God lives. Tough, but that's the way it is.

What the hell’s this supposed to mean?
I could just as well say, “If Beowulf is false, then who wrote it?” or, “If Greek Myth is false, then who wrote it?” But I still have no idea what it’s supposed to mean.

Then it shouldn’t be too troublesome for you to enumerate this evidence or, failing that, direct me somewhere where the evidence is enumerated.
Well, if you look at historically, it was people who either wanted power by fear, or a group of people's idea on how the world was formed and it's laws. This religion probably started in the Middle East.
Note: Calling something a fact does not make it any more of a fact.
Please keep this in mind before you speak in absolutes on the internet.

Dictators wanting a way to control the masses. Or superstitious people. Or trolls.
> "there is more evidence in the Bible being true then there is of George Washington living"
Yeah, because the United States of America totally doesn't exist!
Oh, wait...
