So PeterSung since you feel trees were quote "meant to clean the air and provide fresh oxygen to man and beautify the earth. They weren't originally meant to be chopped down." unquote, then Jesus should have not been a carpenter, that would have been a sin since he was defacing his creation by building something out of wood. Then that would also mean he was not sinless.
Since I see no 11th commandment that states "No one should use creation for energy" I think I will burn all the oil I can afford and cut down every tree I can for the use of my choice.
How silly.

1. Trees were much more plentiful in Jesus's time.
2. God commands in the bible for us to take care of the earth.
3.Are your children and grandchildren unworthy of having a nice, clean, enviroment to live in?
Right, so if you burn all the oil and cut down all the trees, where do expect to get more oil and more trees from? Obviously, even for mere survival, humankind needs to utilise natural resources. However, if are unable to do so in a sustainable and environmentally benign manner, there will come a day when there are no longer any resources to exploit.
I wish I could be surprised by this, but it IS RaptureReady. Let's face it, when they're convinced that Skydaddy will give them a whole new planet to fuck over within the year, they don't particularly care about this world.
So turning the earth into a wasteland is what your god meant when he said to have dominion over the earth?
1. In bible days they knew nothing of petroleum. All mentions of 'oil' in the bible refer to olive oil or some other plant/animal based oil.
2. In bible days they had no idea what a clear cut was. They needed wood, they either found a tree that was already down, or went out and found the one that suited their needs and cut it down.
"How silly."
Yes, yes you are.
No, but there's something in there about being a steward of the earth, which you ought to know since it's YOUR sacred book, not mine.
This is ridiculous. Someone told you why they think it's wrong to cut down trees and you automatically start rambling about sins. I hate to burst your bubble, but the bible is not the end all and be of all of right and wrong. Just because your faith doesn't require you not cut down trees in order to get to your Heaven, doesn't mean it's okay to do so. And frankly, I am appalled at how you jump at the opportunity to act like a maniac just because you don't believe your god will punish you for that behavior. It's a decent example of a Christian who is held in check out of fear, but really wants to go crazy and do whatever he wants with no care of how it effects others.
This is the type of fundieism that makes my blood boil. Not only is it willfully ignoring the facts, he's actively planning, proudly, to go out and destroy as much as possible, JUST FOR THE SAKE OF DOING IT.
What absolute horseshit. If you don't believe in environmentalism, fine, be a moron. But to then decide you're going to unnecessarily undermine those of us who do, only for the sake of doing it, and with no discernible benefit to you, it's basically akin to vandalism. I can't make you like the environment, but why the hell would you proudly, sanctimoniously, work to destroy it?
What an asshole you are.
This person doesn't deserve his or her daily ration of oxygen. Said oxygen clearly never reaches his or her brain.
Remind me why we should be tossing wasteful, willfully ignorant, spiteful, petulant, and overweening shitcakes like this fundie into prisons, again?
Exactly HOW does this person figure out complicated things, like how to breed, and how to breath in and out, but is so UTTERLY unable to grasp the most simple of things like "If you set fire to your playpen, you will get burned?"
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
