(Regarding an elderly man being paralyzed after a hit and run)
In the minds of many, a human really is an animal. That's what we are taught with evolution. We kill our unborn and that's not "shocking"? So why would human "road kill" be shocking? All this does is show to those who don't want to hear or see it how cold and depraved most of our society is.

Billions of people on this planet, and one act of cold depravity is used to summarize ALL of society being cold and depraved. Ok, but if an atheist had stopped, saved the man, etc., would that be an example of how awesome and giving atheists are? Hell no, it would be the exception to the rule.
@FundieBasher
Actually, in their minds, it would prove their idea that all athiest are actually closet theiest(Because remember, in the Fundie mind, only Christians are moral, you athiests are immoral, as are Catholics such myself and anyone else who isn't Christian)
Back on topic though, how does this tragic incident prove that humans are psychotic animals and all that shite you tossed into your little word salad
"All this does is show to those who don't want to hear or see it how cold and depraved most of our society is."
Exactly how many people did your god supposedly kill (usually for no reason other than living in the "wrong" country or having the "wrong" skin color) in your Bible? I've never heard you guys say anything about the numerous genocidal rampages attributed to your god; yet (if he existed) he was probably the most "cold and depraved" being to ever live.
"Evolution" does not "teach" that humans are animals.
Biology DEMONSTRATES it.
ChristCock, he is such an ass!
The very reason the video was notable is that no one helped.
Retarded.
Humans are a species in the animal kingdom, and are, therefore, animals. That should not have bearing on our society or individual worth, however (but it should show us that we are treating other animals unfairly, due to ideas concerning their non-humanity).
Abortion has little or nothing to do with being "animals".
Human road kill is shocking because they are "one of us", and because they are not supposed to be harmed due to social constraints, facilitated by the empathy that you should be feeling instead of going off on an ill-informed tangent against social implications for observations of biological fact.
The only one cold and depraved here is you.
We kill our unborn and that's not "shocking"? So why would human "road kill" be shocking?
Because this gentleman had children, grandchildren, and other people who loved him. Unlike a lump of cells in a woman's body, this person has impacted the people around him.
Is this the first time they've heard of hit and runs or pedestrians being struck by an automobile? It is tragic and they fuckwad who did it is a total asshole for fleeing the scene (assuming it was an accident, otherwise he's also an asshole for doing it in the first place).
Humans really are animals, of course I swerve to miss squirrels, raccoons, possums, deer (especially) and all sorts of other animals as well. Sometimes shit happens. Also, I'm not sure you can use the term 'road kill' unless you effectively kill whatever you hit. This guy's paralyzed, much like your brain, but not dead.
it's interesting that only fundies make this "logical" leap.
Compassion, sympathy, empathy all seem totally alien to them: everything they do is posited on the babble and their belief that they know what god wants them to do.
This is the mentality that fueled the inquisition who honestly (in the main) believed they were saving souls, and the witch burners (ditto). No atrocity is so bad that can't be excused by relying on god.
Man, they can work abortion into any discussion.
Me: Boy, my coffee from the coffee shop this morning wasn't very good.
Fundie: Well, maybe there was a world-class barista that god intended to have work at shop, but some left-wing commie darwinist had that baby aborted and now you have to drink crappy coffee.
Let me clarify for the fundtard.
"unborn" = mindless collection of cells which has no rights until it is born.
"roadkill" = born person with full rights and liberties.
See the difference?
That's just cruel. And they say that atheists are the ones without morals. I've stopped when I hit a bird (wrung it's neck to make sure it was dead) but to just leave a person lying on the side of the road, that's just evil.
I hope that the person caught is a 'good christian' just so we can rub it in these idiots faces.
Why is it you guys seem to think things like this only go one way? I mean, if we think we're animals, we have to also think we can go and be depraved and murder anyone we want? Look at any social species, and you'll see that the individuals in it more often than not will work together and protect each other.
Camaraderie and sympathy are evolutionarily beneficial.
Also, some of us feel bad when an animal gets hit too. Maybe you're just too heartless to care about that possum.
You know, they all watched the video too. Betcha they had that sparkle in their eyes when they say it happen. Betcha they watched it again and again too.
I have still not seen, by very careful avoidance, not seen ANY of the killing/beheading videos because I think that the act itself is repugnant and it would shame myself to watch them.
But all you christians loved to see a guy get hit!
What if humans are animals? Animals still need to be respected and cared for.
The unborn is not alive, per se, and we need to care for the definitely alive first and foremost.
Humans have functioning nervous systems, they have extensive emotions and sympathy for others (which you clearly lack).
Yup, this clearly shows that those who don't want to hear or see that living humans should be cared for first, are only in it to control women, and they are indeed depraved and cold.
Confused?
