By that definition, Islam isn't a religion either, since according to its adherents Allah dictated the Koran to Mohammed.

The reason they do not like their particular brand of Christianity to be referred to as a religion is because it puts their beliefs in the same category as Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Goddess Worship and of course all of those heretical other branches of so-called Christianity. This is dangerously close to saying that all of these belief systems are equally valid, which the fundamentalist knows cannot be true.

Religion: a belief system based on God(s) and demanding faith without proof
Churchs: organizations built around religion to control and profit from the masses
Scripture:Fables: tales of things that never happened, used by churchs to control and profit.
Again, just because there's a well deserved and documented dark meaning to your religion you think you can divorce yourself from the word and apply it anywhere you feel. You can't. Christianity is a religion, that's it. No ones buying this attempt to avoid your history, give it up.
