My husband doesn't believe in the rapture either. I figure he will be really surprised when it happens! And maybe I'll get to say "I told you so".
Doubt it, though...because I'll be looking at Jesus!

Don´t be afraid, if arrogance is one of the sins that keep you from getting raptured there is a good chance that you will be left behind and will spend the tribulation with your hubbie on earth ;)
(that is, in the extremly improbable case that you fundies are right and there will be a rapture ;))
Your poor, poor, husband. Having to deal with a delusional, vindicative girl such as yourself. You must be either be mistaking your psychiatrist for a husband ...or all too willing to adopt the Traditional Christian Female Role (read: submissive to the extreme).
Ah, there goes that Christian love again. I thought Christianity was supposed to be about putting others before yourself? You know what bothers me most about the whole rapture idea (other than the sheer stupidity behind it), is that it seems to breed the ultimate in selfishness and lack of empathy. What normal person would actually rejoice in the idea of rushing off to a heaven when they believe to know in great detail the suffering that awaits those “left behind” (e.g. Tribulation and all that crap), which could include family members, friends, co-workers. And yet the people who subscribe to this “theory” believe wholeheartedly that those left behind truly deserve their suffering for the simple crime of not following their particular brand of religion. The rapture is the ultimate revenge fantasy (second only to eternal hell). Can you RR people please explain how this actually squares with anything Jesus taught, such as loving your enemies, not judging, forgiveness (remember he forgave those who killed him), not wearing your religion on your sleeve, etc. Doesn’t your bible condemn gloating in your own supposed “righteousness”? Of course, the only thing you care about is making sure that your own ass gets into heaven and you don’t seem to care who gets hurt. The lack of concern for others these people exhibit is astounding.
My husband doesn't believe in the rapture either.
Excellent! It sounds as though your husband is taking the first steps on the road to enlightenment and open-mindedness. What a shame he's lumbered with a blinder-wearing hump like you.
Rapture happens, Resting and her husband watch.
Husband :"Well I'll be..."
Resting : "Told ya so !"
Resting immediately gets dropped back to earth
Resting : "D'oh!"
Pride comes before the fall.
I figure he will be really surprised when it happens! And maybe I'll get to say "I told you so".
RAPTURE, MOTHERF***ER!!! DO YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!
@Adrian:
No doubt.
They're actually arguing about whether believing in the rapture is "a salvation issue," as well as whether or not you're "truly saved" if you believe in Jesus Christ as your savior, but you don't believe in the "the trinity".
I'm tempted to register there, just so I can post "FUNDIE FIGHT!"
XD
It's not so much that he hasn't divorced her yet as, why the frack did he even marry her in the first place?
"You find Jesus but it's too late,
He's already closed the front gate.
And the sign's flashin' 'No Vacancy.'"

From the 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' CD
(I been dyin' to use that one.)
And on your deathbed, he'll be pointing and laughing at you, while being happy with his second, sane wife.
I predict that the happiness of this marriage, if it was ever there, is/was not long lasting. The inevitable devorce will be a messy one.
@anonymous_troy:
I think you mean "Adultery with Jesus!"
Set the scene...
Resting: You must get properly saved, honey...or else you'll be left behind...the Rapture will happen any minute! Go! Go now!
*Pillar of light engulfs Resting, and she begins to ascend.*
Resting: JESUS! Oh yes! I told you, sinner! I told you this was coming! Uh...Jesus? There's a roof there...you might wanna...uh...
*whack, whack, whack...Resting is repeatedly bounced off the ceiling.*
Resting's husband: ...
Cut to heaven.
Jesus: Uh...Dad? She's unconcsious...I think you can stop now.
God: SERIOUSLY! What part of "You shall not know the day or the hour" do these people fail to understand?!
If I were your husband I'd welcome the rapture with open arms.
Not that it will ever happen, but a man can dream, can't he?
Confused?
