[Arguing against Christianity being called a religion because it's "God reaching out to man, not man reaching out to God", despite the dictionary definition of 'religion']

Besides if you would have read my post completely instead of looking for a petty argument you would have read that 2000 years ago there were no dictionaries. So what makes you think that a book that contains all meanings and explainations of the english language is correct? Expecially since it was written like no more than 200 years ago!

Containing words that had been in existance for longer then the idea of a dictionary had. Language may change, but, when it did, so did the words assigned to things.

So, if older = right, why aren't you worshiping Ra right now?

Fool. First off, the English language didn't exist 2000 years ago. Secondly, dictionaries were created to standardize the English language. They are correct because they themselves define what's correct.

IRONY ALERT

The previous posting contains irony, read with caution.

Whose to say that when God created men, he didn't create twenty-three-armed scorpion monsters that were all hermaphrodites? The dictionary wasn't around to make it clear what 'man' meant.
