"The number one issue that people should make in the selection of the president of the United States, is will this person carry on the Judeo-Christian principled traditon that has made this nation the greatest experiment in the history of mankind"
"...I would have to say, yes. That the constitution established the Unite States of America as Christian Nation..."
"I just feel that my faith is probably a better spiritual guidance... I just feel that that an important part of our qualifications to lead "
"When [immigrants] come here they shouldn't..., they know they are in a nation founded on Christian principles"
He goes on to talk about how the founding fathers were all Christian and it shows in the 'In God We Trust' that we see on our money, etc.

Ah, McCain... showing once more that he's got no fucking idea about the Constitution, Founding Fathers, history and common fucking sense!
"That the constitution established the Unite States of America as Christian Nation..."
There was a time I used to say that despite my disagreements with him, McCain still had principles.
It is getting harder and harder for me to remember why I used to think that.
Sheesh, the man is now LYING about the constitution.
Yeah, um... I actually used to think he might be an okay president, you know, if he beat Obama.
Never mind. We don't need 4 more years of this shit.
Not that I really wanted to vote for him but this just pretty much secures my vote for Obama.
I mean, REALLY?! What the fuck was he thinking?
I'm not from Rapture Ready, but hanging out in this forum too much has made me aware of their prophecies.
McCain has recently also stated that he wants to create a new Union of Nations, more powerful than the UN, or so, something like that and I realized he's the antichrist, those crazy rapture freaks are all talking about.
It makes so much more sense. The false prophet is Jesus Christ and the one world religion is Christianity. Why else are they so adamant about converting people and the best part is, they don't even realize that they're rooting for the wrong team.
Creepy, luckily it's all made up so not too much to worry about.
McCain: the fundie McBush.
"In God We Trust" came long after the founding of the nation. You, sir, should know such things if you are running for the office of president.
I've been an Obama fan from his Illinois days. But, even if I weren't, you can bet I'd end up voting for him anyway because you, dickweed, are dangerous.
I'm going to just quote a comment for the video:
"So the constitution established this as a Christian nation?
And yet the constitution only mentions religion (in the generic sense) twice.
Once to allow anybody and everybody to believe what they want and the government cant' pick one religion over another.
The other to forbid religous tests for public office, so non-christians can obtain office in this Supposedly Christian nation as easily as Christians can.
So either McCain is grossly ignorant or lying out of his ass."
You know nothing about history or the constitution
Also, wasn't In God we trust only added in like the 50s-60s?
"The number one issue that people should make in the selection of the president of the United States, is will this person carry on the Judeo-Christian principled traditon that has made this nation the greatest experiment in the history of mankind"
Hell yeah! Let's have 4-8 more years of the same shit we've had for the last 8!
Moron.
"...I would have to say, yes. That the constitution established the Unite States of America as Christian Nation..." "
It did no such thing. It says no such thing. It implies no such thing. There's at least one document that says the exact opposite of that in fact.
"I just feel that my faith is probably a better spiritual guidance... I just feel that that an important part of our qualifications to lead "
You have exceptionally low standards for leadership then.
And to think I sort of liked the guy when he called Foulwell, Robertson, and their crew agents of intolerance 8 years ago. I find it unlikely he's actually changed his views, just his actions. It's a sad day when the only way a Republican can get elected President is to kiss the asses of the nutbag religious freaks whose views don't even represent the majority of christianity in this country.
"When [immigrants] come here they shouldn't..., they know they are in a nation founded on Christian principles"
Yeah like slaughter the original people who inhabited the country and rule it under your religion? Sounds like christianity to me.
Oh for the love of. If this guy ran for president in Sweden we'd laugh him out of the election.
This guy has no understanding of the basic constitution or history of the USA. He seems to have completely forgotten the treaty of Tripoli, the separation of church and state and the fact that the "In God We Trust" on the american money wasn't added until the red scare during the fifties. And yet despite all that he probably stands a chance of winning this election.
Of course he's probably just after the fundy vote. But that's bad enough in itself. Please vote for Obama people, the US can't stand another four years with the loonies in power.
@Ceiling Cat:
"I'm so glad to see an intelligent, well-spoken, articulate presidential candidate after all these years of Bush. "
Me too, and I'm NOT being sarcastic, because that candidate is Obama.
Oh, yay, pandering to the base.
One disgruntled Hillary supporter for Obama now. I used to think McCain wouldn't be so bad as a president. Good job, McCain, on that "appealing to Hillary supporters" thing. This guy is going to tear himself in half pandering to all the different groups he's trying to win.
Confused?
