Why the creepy sexual overtones when they talk about Jeeezus?

Er . . . it's probably because the Rapture is not mentioned in the Bible. And because it's made up. It ain't going to happen.
If I were a Christian, I'd be embarrassed. (Which has two esses, by the way. And sentences start with capital letters. And 'his' doesn't. And you are a deluded idiot, doomed by your fatuous cult to spend the rest of your life babbling your miserable rubbish).

Who the fuck's Yeshua? Do you mean Jesus? If so, say so. Stop being so bloody pretentious.
"the "crown" will be His coming---nothing could be more joyous than that."
Yeeeuuuww, icky.

I find the sexual overtones creepy as well. Brides, weddings, Jesus coming etc. Is the honeymoon gonna be Jesus in a massive gang bang with raptured fundie women?

For two millennia Christians have been saying that Jesus' return was imminent. Sooner or later someone is going to have to conclude that if he's not here yet, he's probably not coming at all. Either that, or at least take the position that no one knows when he will return except for the father. But please, stop running around announcing that the second coming is at hand. That got tired long, long ago.

It's sad how many sexually-repressed Rapture Readyites think the only sex they'll get is with a zombie Nazarene at the end of time.
Get out and enjoy the life you have!
Why are you looking at me like that?

The bride tends to be ashamed when she's stood up like you appear to have been.

Is there hope for fundies? Or is this just more fundie whining about non existent problems?

“A bride ashamed of her wedding?” More like a bride ashamed of a wedding to a man she has never met, who she read about in a book, without any clue about when the wedding is going to take place, knowing that 80 generations of people have vainly waited for the same “wedding” to occur, which will not only involve a complete abrogation of the laws of physics, but also the sadistic destruction of the entire planet, while the supposed bride is instantly transported to a magical fantasy land. Ashamed? If you’re not then you need very special care indeed.
Rather than comparing you to a bride, I would compare you to a man sitting in a restaurant at half past midnight with a bouquet of wilting flowers and staff cleaning up around you, desperately refusing to admit that you have been stood up… having been there for a month.

Off topic, but...
Has anyone else been banned from RR? I only actually visited there when following a link via FSTDT and they've blocked my ISP.

Fundie sites hate us so much they won't accept links from here. You have to get there from another web site.

What "bride" would be happy having married at the proverbial gun-point? It's convert or die with you people.

Bride? Wedding?
So does this mean that all male christians will have a gay relationship with Jesus upon his return? I thought this would be one of the greates sins fundamentalists can imagine.
Ah I understand, it is different for homosexual relationships with Jesus ;)

Of course they're embarrassed, Jesus [Yeshua, right? Your Hebrew or whutevar is confusing] said he would come back before all the dudes he was talking to died.
They all died.
He hasn't come back.
Lo and behold, a few people think he might be wrong.

"it still amazes and saddens me how many Christians seem almost embarrased in talking about Yeshua's return. a bride ashamed of her wedding?"
This whole "Bride of Christ" bit is more than a little creepy, you know.
"doesn't make sense."
Then it fits perfectly with the rest of your religion.
"i think for those of us longing and waiting, that the "crown" will be His coming---nothing could be more joyous than that."

Look, kid, Joe Messiah ain't comin' back. He pulled a good con while he was around, but that was two thousand years ago. He's long dead. Get out now while you still have some money and some dignity left in your wallet.

They're embarrassed because it is ridiculous. Not everyone has a boner for RR and its insane ideas. Even other christians.
