[Talks about other gods that share the same jesus stats]

Horus would be wrong my friend, Horus was pieced back together so that other goddess could have sex with it. As for Mithra, people need to stop comparing Christianity to it, it is nothing like Christianity nothing at all.

Oh and Krishna never rose from the dead either. Any terms of Krishna being "crucified" or "risen from the dead" are all borrowed from Christian beliefs, as in they were written after Christianity.

Nuh-uh, Christianity was just stolen from Scientology!

"all borrowed from Christian beliefs, as in they were written after Christianity."

OMFG, I think I just busted an intestine laughing. Sweetie, honey pie, I hate to have to be the one to break it to you (no, actually, I don't), YOUR RELIGION IS NEARLY ENTIRELY COBBLED TOGETHER FROM BITS AND PIECES OF OTHER, OLDER RELIGIONS. Please, stop making an ass out of yourself and STFU.

Well of course the details in the stories of Christ-like characters is different. This does not refute the fact that they all share similar themes and archetypes and yes even some of the details are virtually identical.

I think it was Osiris who was chopped up and reassemble but I could be wrong. Be that as it may, I've never understood how all these other beliefs copied christianity even though they predated it, in some cases, by many centuries. I'd really like it if someone could explain that to me. (And please don't use the old 'Satan did it because he know Christ was coming so he created all the predecessors to confuse everyone' approach - that has just been done to death.)

I think someone is confusing Horus with Osiris.

Well, at least you christian celebrate one of the holidays of the Mithras Cult as one of your most impotant holidays. It is christmas, which takes place at the holiday of Sol invictus (which is another name for Mithras)

If you have to lie to support your religion, your religion must consist of lies, Sphinctersparken.

Christians copied about 60 % of the stuff from the judaism.

"Horus would be wrong my friend, Horus was pieced back together so that other goddess could have sex with it."

The whole "dying/resurrecting" bit is the point. You people often claim nobody ever thought of such a thing before you pal Jesus came around. Which, obviously, is bullshit. The Egyptians beat you to it by a few thousand years at least.

"As for Mithra, people need to stop comparing Christianity to it, it is nothing like Christianity nothing at all."

Except for the parts that are nearly carbon copies. Many of the epithets you use for Jesus ("the way, the Truth and the Light; the Light of the World, etc) were all claimed to have been said by Mithra himself or his followers used it to describe him. Mithra also had qualities of a savior/redeemer. The largest temple with a Mitrha connection, a temple in Iran (around 200 B.C.E.), is dedicated to "Anahita, the Immaculate Virgin Mother of the Lord Mithras." There are also stories, apparently dating to about 600 B.C.E. of him being "crucified."

"Oh and Krishna never rose from the dead either. Any terms of Krishna being "crucified" or "risen from the dead" are all borrowed from Christian beliefs, as in they were written after Christianity."

You realize that the Hindu religion is about twice as old as yours, possible even older, don't you? The Krishna "crucifixion" story seems to date to around 1200 B.C.E. Plenty of time for you Christians to both hear about it and steal the idea, much like you steal holidays and religious ceremonies from other cultures.

So the sumerian flood story was copied from the bible too?

I'd explain but you couldn't hear with the hands over the ears and the la-la-la-la-la thing going.

Considering christianity and your stories of Jesus and a flood came well after many of these other deities, tell me, who is wrong? Who stole from one religion and created a new one?

Willful ignorance is one of the worst elements of human brains.

Yep, it was Osiris who was chopped up into itty-bitty pieces by Set and scattered. Isis looked all over the world for the bits, but couldn't find Osiris' penis because the crabs* ate it. So she made him a dildo. And when she got all of Osiris' bits back, she assembled them and he was brought back to life. We have as yet found no word recording what he thought of his new manhood, though.

Isis and Osiris predate Christianity by many centuries. "That other goddess" was Isis (who did the 'piecing'). The 'piecee' was Osiris, not Horus. Horus was the son conceived after the 'piecing and sex'. You know nothing about Egyptian religions.

Mithras predates Christianity by several centuries. Mithras was born of a virgin on 25th December, had 12 disciples, performed miracles and was described as "The Way, The Truth and The Light" (sound familiar). Mithraism had a eucharist or “Lord’s Supper,” at which Mithra said, “He who shall not eat of my body nor drink of my blood so that he may be one with me and I with him, shall not be saved.” You know nothing of Mithraism

Krishna predates Christianity by millennia. Krishna was born of a virgin (Devaki) on 25th December. His father was a carpenter. His birth was signaled by a star in the east and attended by angels and shepherds, at which time he was presented with spices. The heavenly hosts danced and sang at his birth. He was persecuted by a tyrant who ordered the slaughter of thousands of infants. Krishna was anointed on the head with oil by a woman whom he healed. He is depicted as having his foot on the head of a serpent. He worked miracles and wonders, raising the dead and healing lepers, the deaf and the blind. Krishna used parables to teach the people about charity and love, and he “lived poor and he loved the poor.” He castigated the clergy, charging them with “ambition and hypocrisy . . . Tradition says he fell victim to their vengeance.” Krishna’s “beloved disciple” was Arjuina or Ar-jouan (Jouhn). He was transfigured in front of his disciples. He gave his disciples the ability to work miracles. His path was “strewn with branches.” In some traditions he died on a tree or was crucified between two thieves. Krishna was killed around the age of 30, and the sun darkened at his death. He rose from the dead and ascended to heaven “in the sight of all men.” He was depicted on a cross with nail-holes in his feet, as well as having a heart emblem on his clothing. Krishna is the “lion of the tribe of Saki.” He was called the “Shepherd of God” and considered the “Redeemer,” “Firstborn,” “Sin-Bearer,” “Liberator,” “Universal Word.” He was deemed the “Son of God” and “our Lord and Savior,” who came to earth to die for man’s salvation. He was the second person of the Trinity. His disciples purportedly bestowed upon him the title “Jezeus,” or “Jeseus,” meaning “pure essence.” Krishna is to return to judge the dead, riding on a white horse, and to do battle with the “Prince of Evil,” who will desolate the earth.

You obviously know nothing of comparative religions.

Checkmate.

Osiris was the dead god who was pieced back together, Horus was his son.

Ignoring the fact that he's got Osiris and Horus mixed up, the story of Jesus was a Jewish adaptation of the story of Osiris!

@Calabraxas: Well done!

By the time Jesus got around to rising from the dead it was simply a cheap parlor trick.
