Translation from fundie: \"I'm quite ignorant and I know it, but nevertheless there is nothing that can change my mind.\"
You're just being boneheaded, you dipshit.
If you believe in the Bible, because the Bible talls you to you are an easy target for any brainwashing cult, TV commercial, or political movement that catches you first.
The Xtians got to you first. Good for them. Now sit and raise your paw for them like the puppy you are.

\"every word of it was inspired by God\".
Inspired is the keyword here. The bible was written by men.

I don't want to believe because I don't see why that should be the truth.

"About the other things you spoke of, I don't even know what the nag hammadi texts are"
I find it so funny that fundies use their ignorance of something as a reason to discredit it.

I'm 15, so I admit, I don't really know that much. But I do know that the Bible is true, and that every word of it was inspired by God. Every. Single. Word.
Kinda speaks for itself dosn't it?

This person isn't even worth talking to. They just believed the first thing they were told without looking into it. If they had been born in a muslim, jew, hindu, buddhist, pagan, or even an atheist family, they would abide by those beliefs just as harshly. Its amazing how many people have a complex that tells them "The first thing I hear is automatically the correct thing."

To all you teenagers out there...douchebags like this are one of the primary reasons that so many adults dismiss anything that you have to say. And yes, I did call him a douchebag, because he's at least old enough to know that he's being offensive.

Okay then, explain the contradictory descriptions of the crucifixion in the four gospels. You know, I'm getting really tired of asking people to do that and never getting an answer or a retraction.

I almost want to give the kid a pass. He's only 15 (Well, kind of. I'd hope that 15-year-olds would have some critical thinking skills.)
He doesn't claim that this God who sends you to Hell is all-loving, he doesn't even necessarily seem to like the fact. And he doesn't come across as nearly as stupid most adults quoted on this site either. His parents are probably fundies and he's just repeating what he's grown up being told is the truth. I hope that they haven't brainwashed him completely and that as he grows up he'll see that this is nonsense.

ghostdude says: I'm 15, so I admit, I don't really know that much. But I do know that the Bible is true, and that every word of it was inspired by God. Every. Single. Word."
ME: Well kiddo... then if you dont know much... how can you say you know the Bible to be 100% true? Every single word you say? EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. IS GODS WORD? REALLY. YOU SURE? Think carefully on this now.. God is perfect and infallible. That means hes never wrong. Therefore his Bible can never be wrong. Not ONE. SINGLE. WORD.
So now... turn your pages to Leviticus Chapter 11 Verses 13-19:
CLEAN AND UNCLEAN FOWL FOR EATING -
These you shall regard as detestable among the birds. They shall not be eaten; they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey, the buzzard, the kite of any kind; every raven of any kind; the ostrich, the nighthawk, the seagull, the hawk of any kind; the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl, the water hen, the desert owl, the carrion vulture; the stork, the heron of any kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.
Ohhhh im sorry... did your Biblical perfect God just imply that the BAT is a BIRD? Really? Lets see what science has to say about this...
[ahref="http://www.bats4kids.org/bird.htm"] http://www.bats4kids.org/bird.htm [/a]
IF THEY FLY,WHY AREN'T THEY BIRDS?
Do you know why? Is there a difference?
Take a look and find out! Are you more like a bat or a bird?
Bats are mammals.
They have fur or hair.
A baby bat is born live.
The babies nurse from their mom.
Bats have arms, hands and feet.
They are warm blooded.
Birds Are...well...birds!
They are hatched from eggs.
Birds have feathers, not fur or hair.
Babies are fed from mom's mouth.
They have wings, but no hands and fingers.
So, are bats and birds different?
Yes they are.
And, a bat is the only mammal that can truly fly...
even though it is not a bird!
Isn't that amazing?
Aren't bats really amazing?"
here... educate yourself son. Read this website and LEARN. The Bible is not Gods word... but this doesnt mean God doesnt exist. This merely means the Bible is a load of tripe from people who THOUGHT it came from God and that they were experiencing something holy when in fact they just wrote what they thought down for themselves and of their own accord. God would not make such an error. HE MADE BIRDS. HE MADE BATS. HE WOULD KNOW. RIGHT? LOL

If you read that Bible of yours you will find a passage that says "judge not, lest ye be judged".
There is a possibility that
both the Bible
and the Koran are wrong.
If you haven't heard of the Nag Hammadi, then the obvious thing to do is to open an encyclopedia and learn about it.
I don't remember hearing of it, so I went to Wikipedia and found this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nag_Hammadi.
The farmers BURNED one of the books? Horrible!
I hope for your sake that you have become more open-minded and knowledgeable about the world in the 8 years that have passed since that naive quote.

Reminds me of a (Mark Twain?) story about a teenager who was so disgusted with his father's stupidity that he left home at 17 to conquer the world on his own. He returned when he was 21, and was amazed at how much the old man had learned in just 4 years.
gd has had 10. I have hope, but not a lot of faith in it.
