Does it look like I give a damn about Egyptology?
You should. Many of the original beliefs of christianity (particularly regarding life and death) came from there, and Egyptian history is directly related to christian history. Read your bible, nitwit.
I don't.
Apparently, and one could speculate that you wouldn't give a wet shit about anything not directly related to being an in-your-face, sanctimonious, confrontational asshole, either.
Can you tell me how you know wicca doesn't come from the devil?
As a Wiccan, I don't believe your Satan exists. To me he's just a figurehead for the 'proselytize at them with fear' movement. In order for us to worship him or believe that he was the inspiration for our religion we would have to acknowledge his existence. He's your boy, not ours.
You may say,"but we use it for good." but wouldn't you be able to trick someone easier by making them think you were good? Is that not how advertisements work? Come to McDonald We have great tasting food, but it'll probably kill you or make your life harder if you eat allot of it, do they advertise like that?
First off we don't advertise (aka 'evangelize'). Again, that's your loathsome practice, not ours. Anyone who comes to Wicca does so of their own accord, not because they were either tricked or or terrified into it. We do not use spiritual terrorism to gain converts. Those of us who are drawn to Pagan religions generally do so because we want to either find something that we can not find in organized religions or because we feel drawn toward nature or the divine feminine, and wish to create a closer bond with the natural world or deity. You won't find us on street corners handing out tracts, in parking lots giving you a hard time about the religious messages on your bumper stickers or knocking on your door and interrupting your family time to tell you you're going to hell. If you want a Pagan to act as your mentor, you will have to find one yourself, or seek the mysteries on your own.
Bonus: Wicca, like any other religion has it's share of fruits and nuts. We are not perfect and make no such claim, unlike christianity. Sometimes Wiccans do bad things, just like christians, muslims and everyone else. The one thing christianity and Wicca have in common is that the majority of our practitioners try to do the right thing and live good and helpful lives. But, being human, we sometimes screw up.
I know my religion doesn't come from evil because my God, Jesus, lived a perfect life by the law, and evil cannot be perfect by the law.
Prove that. The bible leaves out a huge part of the life of Jesus, but if we go by the scrolls that were found after the accepted canon was put together (as in, hidden in order to protect the myth of perfection), we see that the child Jesus was a little tyrant who used his 'powers' to torment others. It was only with time and maturation that he stopped doing this. But to admit that he didn't always 'use his powers for good' destroys the myth of ultimate good that has been built around him, doesn't it?
The fact is, he was human, and open to the same fears, doubts, anger, pain and sometimes not-so-nice behavior as any other human.
Your entire argument is a big fail. As in, severe lack of win. Try again, and this time attempt to come off as less of an asshole.
