Why is rape on the rise? The Bible talks about the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh. And believe me, women, young or old, are asking for trouble by encouraging rapists to fulfill their lust of the eyes and lust of the flesh by baring their bodies to extremes.

Is rape really on the rise? It seems as though it's being reported more, but I don't think there's really any way to tell the actual statistics. It seems reasonable to assume that it's declining along with the general trend of declining violent crime in most Westernized countries, but that a) is just speculation and b) may not have anything to do with crazy mixed-up USA anyway.
Weel rape was still around in the middle ages and stuff when women wore full length dresses and 700 petticoats
I dress in (gasp!) low cut tops and shortish skirts and shorts, and I havn't been raped, and I probably won't be, because I am not stupid enough to walk in a deserted area by myself.
Well, there were probably less rapes in the 50s but there were less people and were'nt reported as much. I doubt theres a higher quota of rape as totally fucked-up loser quota's probably not changed much either.
There is no correlation to how the girls dress , men are pigs, there I said it.
I'm a nudist. I see women, young and old, completely naked. Men as well, of course. Like me, they all enjoy living in a natural state and feeling the sun and air on their skin.
When I started, it surprised me to note that the "Ewww" factor (that I anticipated as a reaction to seeing those bodies that were far from the Grecian ideal) did not even crop up, and those bodies that were attractive could be cleanly appreciated as such, without the drool.
My point, I guess, is to remark that Ray and his like are in need of some serious adjustment (de-mystification) of their perceptions of women, their bodies, and sexuality.
I remember a quote, unfortunately I can't attribute it but it might have been Mark Twain: "As a general thing, naked people tend to be more polite."
what Eric said.
Raymond, you pathetic moron, rape is also an act of violence. Encouraging rapists? In our town 2 sisters were raped but they were wearing house robes. Flannel. They were 82 and 83. I doubt you will but you need to do a little research. Women of advanced age are raped. I doubt they are parading around in baring their bodies. If a woman hurts/kills her rapist or would be rapist you'd be one of the first idiots to cry out for her head. After all, "she could have relaxed and enjoyed it, right?" Do you have a daughter? If this horrible crime happened to her would you say it was her fault?
1) Rape is not on the rise.
2) Rape is widely under-reported, though less so over time.
3) Even official crime statistics - which require criminal charges - show that most rapes are committed by present or former lover, friend or family member. Only 1 in 4 is committed by strangers.
Doesn't matter what s/he looks like. Doesn't matter how s/he is dressed.
No means no. If you can't control your urges, you aren't much of a human being.
No, see, rapes are REPORTED more, because women are starting to realize "You filthy harlot, if yuo hadn't have bared your shoulders and went into that dark alley without an army of manly men to protect you, this wouldn't have happened" is bullshit reasoning, and blaming the victim is less and less effective. If a man rapes a woman, the man is at fault. Period. I can control myself to know that no means no. They can too.
"The Bible talks about the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh"
Then the very fact we normal, decent, civilised, sane Atheist men who possess self control proves our more than infinite superiority to the so-called 'morals' of the Bible, doesn't it?!
That little matter, re. God (the 'Holy Spook') & the underage Mary. Two words: Statutory Rape .
Prove that we Atheists are more than infinitely superior to even your own Biblegod much, fundies...?!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
