How is that false? I haven't watched the movie, but I don't remember the alien having ulterior motives.

If aliens are advanced enough to travel between solar systems, they either have a way better god or none at all. Given the diversity of God even in the human world, I suggest that aliens probably have a God who is vastly different on minor political issues.
