Quote# 41174

[In response to a thread about California's gay marriage]

I hadn't realized how much this is effecting me. I've been watching from the sidelines, kind of detached, you know. . . a sign of the times mentality, what can you do?

And then, wham, yesterday when they started showing the actual first marriages, and those two elderly women. . . and I just have this incredible desire to weep . . . and I mean WEEP, as in great, heart-wrenching sobs.

These poor, poor people. My heart cries out for them. They're flinging themselves over a cliff into eternal hell and they are so oblivious. . .

And I never cry about anything.

They finally got what they wanted after decades of waiting and your response is heart-wrenching sobs of sadness?

I too cried for those people, but they were tears of joy.

You fuckers just can't stand to know there are people out there that don't believe as you do.

Fuck, and indeed, you.

The only type of crying you should be doing for that couple is tears of joy. They have been together for FIFTY FIVE years and finally have the rights to get married like so many of their straight friends.

I didn't cry, I just went, "Awww, how awesome. Other people are finally recognizing what they've known for a long time now."

Funny, I cried, too. But that was because I thought it was so beautiful that they finally got to marry after so many years together. They looked so sweet together. *sniffle*

And yet, still no mention to how it actually affects her.

'Affecting', you bimbo.

You cry because you're a self righteous piece of shit, and you can't keep your fucking nose out of other people's business.

I say way to go. I hope those ladies have a happy marriage.

This is what makes you cry. Not murder, rape, abuse, cruelty... no it's this. This is the issue that pushes you over the edge. Two people promising to be committed to one another.

I can't claim to understand homosexuality. But I don't believe they've asked for my understanding or approval. They've asked for equal rights under the law and I can see no reason that is not based in religious doctrine to deny them that right. And since this nation expressely states in its constitution that the government will not impose religion upon its citizens, I fully support gay marriage.

Hmm, i teared up for the exact opposite reason.

Oh yeah, forget genocide, war, and famine. If gays marry, you'll cry buckets.

P.S. About finging themselves into Hell...reread your bible, dickhead.

"And I never cry about anything"
Probably your tears aren't over the gay marriage, but deep down knowing that your church is absolute bullshit, and being scared shitless over that fact. Don't worry, you won't live forever, and the horrible trial that is dealing life on earth will be over.

Obsessing a lot about something that has absolutely no effect on your life aren't you? Maybe you should see a therapist about this.

Yeah, because god really, really hates old ladies who've lived together and loved each other for 50 years.

6/19/2008 6:22:21 PM

WTF

I got a little choked up at the injustice that these people who loved each other had to wait so long to be legally married.

6/19/2008 7:06:08 PM

Yes these people realy give a damn what you think. Try reading this if you want something to make you cry idiot.

I, for one, thought it was quite touching and beautiful. Fifty-five years they've been together and it's only now that they've been able to get married. If there were any tears of sadness, they would have to come from the fact that this loving couple had to wait so long and for no good reason. But other than that, I can't understand why people could cry anything but tears of happiness.

If they're oblivious then why are they being condemned to hell?

6/20/2008 2:50:27 AM

Shut the fuck up, asshole. Maybe you should be denied marriage for so many years and see how it feels.

I've had the urge to cry several times while watching vids of the happy couples, too.

The difference is, I was tearing up 'cause I was happy that they're finally being treated like humans.

Should I ask Reb Mel to be the ringbearer when my partner of 18 years and I get married in California (under the big redwood trees)?

If we're going to get married, by God someone had better CRY at my wedding!
