Okay so...

Lets pretend that there is this guy..

Lets call him Rob.

Okay so Rob just got this amazing new book that he absolutely cannot put down. So he goes out side in his back yard to read.
Well all of the sudden, his neighbors child slips into his back yard...
He dosn't pay much attention and keeps reading.

All of the sudden he hears a splash and This child is drowning in his pool.

He doesn't want to let go of the book, so the child dies in the end...

Thats exactly what happens when you do not share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Their soul will die and be condemned to Hell for all eternity. If you are okay with that, then thats your deal, but I'm Not at all okay with that, and I was commissioned to be an On Campos Missionary to my school last Summer along with wherever else I go, and I intend to carry out my mission till the end of my days...

The time is coming and He IS coming soon so be ready because the End is near.

The world is corrupt as it was in the Days of Noah, and it wont be a flood this time....

Hmm... you seem unable to put down the Bible, so I guess that Rob is really you and you're telling people to leave the faith?

It's more like Rob's neighbor is swimming in the pool, and so is his kid.

Neither of them drown. It's not even in your yard.

Allegory for Jesus

A compelling analogy...if, of course, the book was also the only means of knowing that the child exists, is headed towards the pool, and will die...

No, "exactly" means it would be precisely the same. In the first cae, you would be allowing a preventable death for a trivial, selfish reason. In the case of evangelism, you would be simply annoying innocent persons with your religious delusions.

"He" doesn't exist. "He" is not coming. There never was a world-wide flood.

how do you take anyone self-named "Darth" anything seriously??

Because letting people drown is exactly what God wants.

This is what that thar edumacation does. It kills the children. Think of the children and become a total retard like Darthvicky6.

Go fuck yourself.

Bad analogies won't hide the fact that you'll be a prick to anyone who doesn't agree with you beliefs.

I admit it, I enjoy a good book.
However, if I'm outside reading and the neighbor's five year old falls off her trampline and and is seriously hurt.
I will throw my book down and call an ambulance or atleast her mother.

The time is coming and He IS coming soon so be ready because the End is near.
"He" was supposed to come 2000 years ago. Read your bible.

And what if the kid fends you off and says, "Dude, I can swim just fine. The water's only two feet deep anyway. I didn't even ask for help. Now get your hands off my shorts!"

If you're a standard-issue fundie, you just keep groping, hoping that eventually the kid will like it.

SeenAndNotSeen

Wouldn't it be more appropriate in this analogy to, instead of helping the child, you read the book to the child as they drown? Because although they might suffer and die, at least they might go to heaven. Maybe. Possibly.

I don't get your analogy. In fact it's a really fucking stupid analogy because no one is going to keep reading a book while someone is clearly drowning in front of them.

The time is coming and He IS coming soon so be ready because the End is near.
Now this is something I don't get with modern day Christians. What's with all this talk about He is coming. Hasn't the Messiah already came. Wasn't that the whole point of Jesus, was that he came and saved mankind. Why are you still waiting for him. His not coming because he already did. That's the entire point behind your religion.

Say what now? I'm failing to see the correlation between letting a fucking child drown in front of you and not babbling incessantly about your invisible friend wanting to torture me eternally unless I believe he killed himself, as a sacrifice to himself, to appease his own wrath over something he initiated to begin with.

"Their soul will die and be condemned to Hell for all eternity. You're going to be a popular one. I can tell already.

"The time is coming and He IS coming soon so be ready because the End is near."

Yes, yes. The End is always nigh, isn't it? Has been for 2000 years now. Hell, the Jews have been waiting even longer than you guys.

"The world is corrupt as it was in the Days of Noah, and it wont be a flood this time...."

Obviously. God made a promise that he wouldn't flood the earth again. Isn't that just peachy? Maybe it'll be an asteroid impact this time...

That book Rob was reading? It was the KJV bible.

sofia the antichrist - I am god!

What if Rob was reading the bible? I mean, god's message is probably more important than the life of some dumb kid who wanders onto your property.

John

Okay, so Rob just got this amazing new book that was written back in the bronze age by a bunch of Arab goat herders. He absolutely cannot put it down. So he goes outside in his back yard to read. Well, all of a sudden, he reads that his neighbor's child has slipped into his back yard is drowning in his pool. He's never actually seen a pool in his yard, and he's never seen a child at his neighbors' house, but because he believes the book can't be wrong, he rushes over to the neighbor's house to tell them that the child he thinks they have is drowning in the pool he thinks is in his yard because he read it in this book. The neighbors think he's nuts and shut the door on him.

Thats exactly what happens when you pester others with your own religion because you think it's right and theirs is wrong.

"The world is corrupt as it was in the Days of Noah, and it wont be a flood this time...."

Kind of a rotten technicality when you think about it.

"Noah, I have changed my mind about genocidal temper tantrums. Have a rainbow to prove I will never flood the Earth again. Instead i'll foreshadow the end of the world with plagues, wars, the death of millions, and a brutal one world government led by my opposite number. But no floods. Any problems, you can take it up with my lawyer."
