How come atheists don't know anything about world history?
They can't spell. They don't know American or World history, and half of them are gay

How's the weather on Antares, Zorcon? Here on Earth, it's been a nice day; and our atheists tend to be the most intelligent, best-educated types around.
I've got a degree in history myself, I make my living by writing (hence my excellent spelling) and I'm quite straight.
You, however, are still a total fuckhead.
Let us look at these claims this moron has made of me.
1. No, I know alot about World History and got an A in a college equivalent class.
2. No, my spelling may not be perfect, but it is generally correct.
3. No, I am straight.
You sir, fail.
I've had nearly-perfect spelling since I was about four. I can't say the same about most of the people who are quoted on this site. And are you talking about real history, or Fundie Revisionist History? 'Cause, I know a pretty fair amount of the former... (thank you, Sarah Vowell!)
"They can't spell"
Firefox and I make that a point.
"They don't know American or World history,"
Took both in high school.
"and half of them are gay"
And half of them aren't. Like... me.
Many gays are atheists, not the other way around. This is because mass religions such as Christianity alienate them and drive them away. Also, to my knowledge, the previous sentence (as well as this one) contains no spelling or grammatical errors.
No, no--you mean fundies, not atheists. Atheists tend to be educated, or at the very least, understand what education they received in high school, better than fundie lunatics.
By the way--I'm a Dirty Agnostic and I managed to spell every word in this post right. Do I get my Atheist/Agnostic Street Cred taken away now?
How come atheists don't know anything about world history?
This is strange as I it seems to me that normally it is the religious fundamentalists who show more lack in this field of science, than do atheists.
Especially the history of their own religion seems to be terra incognita to most christian fundamentalists.
They can't spell
-But I can use full stops.
They don't know American or World history
-America is part of the world you idiot, and I think it would be pretty hard for me to fluke 16 or more end of term history exams
and half of them are gay
-No. And how would you know anyway?
What's American ?
Burgers.
Or you didn't really mean as a language. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
EDIT : Oh wait, me drunk, American history. Well, that's a rather easy subject...'tis short aaaaaaaaaaaaaand I think World history covers it.
How come fundies don't know anything about American history, tolerance, or not being flaming douchebags?
They can't spell (look how many of them write 'athiest'.) They don't know American history because they want to believe America was founded by devout fundies rather than by deists. They don't know world history because they think that "America fuck yeah, ignore the rest of the world" will do. And half of them are more concerned with who their neighbor wants to sleep with than by how their own life is going.
Try that particular boot on the other foot Zorcon. I've just finished writing on this board to a fundie who can't spell or write proper English.
As to History, European History is far more convoluted and interesting, don't you think? Or do you know any?
How come atheists don't know anything about world history?
How come christians don't know anything about ancient Egypt?
They can't spell.
And your mister never spelled a word wrong in my life, right?
...and half of them are gay.
Sexual prefrence knows no beliefs.
1) I bet if you and I were to take the same history test at the same time given by the same teacher, my score would smoke yours.
2) Given that not only do I spell quite well, unlike you I also know how to punctuate, I'd say my literacy level smokes yours as well.
3) Straight. Happily married. Three children. Smoked again.
Fuck you.
"They can't spell. They don't know American or World history, and half of them are gay"
British straight Atheist here. Something you fundies never knew about, or conveniently forgot:
'The government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion'
-George Washington
WE can't spell?:
ColoUr
FlavoUr
HonoUr
FavoUr
AluminIum
American Spelling? NO U.
Ted Faggard is gay. Therefore, by your logic, half of right-wing fundies are gay too.
@TheNerd
"they deleted the original"
Presumably to stop the rest of Yahoo being infected with Zorcon's brand of FAIL.
@ anon-e-moose,
Certain of your '-our' examples are bastardized French '-eur'. Just sayin'.
Sir Humphry Davy first isolated, and named, the 'alumium' metal. As is typical for intelligent people, he erred when he second-guessed himself with the etymologically inaccurate 'aluminum'.
Later on, some nameless Oxford bureaucrat saw fit to 'correct' the word further by adding yet another unnecessary letter.
;)
How come theists don't know anything about science?
They can't spell. They don't know shit about evolution, cosmology, or abiogenesis, and half of them are gay
That's what you meant to say, isn't it?
I bet I know much, much more American history, than you know Swedish history, stupid. Arguably; American history is only about 500 years, while Swedish history is at least 1000 years.
How many foreign languages can you spell in correctly? I'm using a foreign language right now.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
