As your quote notes he left his wife and family.
In his fathers palace, the monster!
Matthew
12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Mark
3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
Luke
5:11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
Romans
1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
1Timothy
You should help a widow only if she 1) is over 60 years old, 2) had only one husband, 3) has raised children, 4) has lodged strangers, 5) has "washed the saints feet," 6) has relieved the afflicted, and 7) has "diligently followed very good work." Otherwise, let them starve. "But the younger widows refuse [to help]: for ... they will marry; having damnation." Besides the young widows are always idle tattlers -- "busybodies, spreading things which they ought not." He adds that "some are already turned aside after Satan." 5:9-15
He was also very arrogant, as can be seen from his "writings," which by the way were not set down by his devotees until over 200 years later
Actually it was 400 years later. And only one monk knew all of the writings by heart. It's also said that this monk was very arrogant, so maybe that's where you're seeing the arrogance from.
Anyway, it doesn't matter because we admit that the teachings aren't the written word of some sky-daddy. Buddhism is about awakening the Buddha within, it has nothing to do with good old sid.
the Gospels were written by direct disciples and contemporaries of Jesus Christ.
Try 70 to 200 years later.
Never mind the public image of that old fake, the Dalai Lama.
Just how is the Dali Lama a fake?
Buddhists have no inner peace, they do not obey the teachings of "the Buddha" about not lusting (Buddhist countries are terrible about prostitution), they have caused many wars (contrary to Bible-believers, though false Christians have been known to start wars).
I love how anyone who lives in the far east is automatically a Buddhist to you, but anyone who does something wrong under the name of Christianity isn't a True Christian(TM)
Buddhists priests in Japan are known to be money-grubbers, requiring many expensive ceremonies.
Yep, that's why Dogen went to Cloud City in China in the 13th century.
I could go on and on, but have work to do to try to win Buddhists to Jesus Christ.
Yeah, good luck with that
