"It's true. Atheists aren't seeking the truth. They just don't want God to exist, so they ignore all of the evidence there is that he exists."
Do you accept that if you enter the cupboard where you keep your clothes, you'll emerge out the other side into another world where you'll meet a talking lion? Because if you don't - specifically the scenario posited in the book* "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" by the devoutly Christian author CS Lewis - you've just destroyed your own argument.
...what's that? 'That's just a story, pure fiction that relies on metaphor (i.e. Aslan = Jesus); fiction can't be 'Truth', you say? Well then. Again, you've just destroyed your own argument. Proof?
The Church of England (which includes clergy who - if they're not already Professors of such - are learned Theological scholars who have studied the Biblical, and related texts in not just KJV-esque English, but Latin, Greek, and Aramaic for decades) openly acknowledge that much of the Bible is purely fable and metaphor.
"It doesn't matter what you show them, they just dismiss is as 'insufficient' or something similar. Since atheists don't want God to exist, there's no sense in debating with them."
And since your 'God' can't prove he exists - to we Atheists' satisfaction (appearing to us physically, and proving he is 'God', via demonstrations of his power), then I see absolutely no reason to acknowledge the existence of your 'God'.
A mere book is not 'Proof'. It needs physical evidence to back it up. And the Bible has never been peer-reviewed by the scientific establishment.
*- PROTIP: 'Book' in Greek is 'Biblios'. It's the origin of the word 'Bible' too. Thus "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" is a Bible. As is "On the Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin", "A Brief History of Time" by Prof. Stephen Hawking, and "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins.
The Bible is Truth after all, and you must accept the Truth in these Bibles too.
Enjoy your paradox, Northern Christian.
