(discussing punk, metal, goth, etc. music)
This stuff is not mere talk for the purpose of baiting us. A few years ago, there was a teenager in my town who was raised in a wonderful Christian home, was enormously blessed as a musician, and was very involved in Bible quizzing. Somehow she became infected with this lifestyle. The night before she stepped in front of a train, she was listening to a band called Dimmu Borgir. Old school, I know, but very dangerous. I don't understand why she did what she did, but her death was the catalyst that God used to call me into spiritual warfare on behalf of our kids.

"I don't understand why she did what she did,"
Then you really have no idea if it had anything to do with her music, do you?
Ah the old "blame heavy metal for a disturbed kid doing something out of place" trick!
A lot of people listen to Dimmu Borgir, Nothing special about them. Not particularly good Metal, but they are good enough.
These other kids are still OK. Must have been something about her and her family that made her commit suicide.
"The night before she stepped in front of a train, she was listening to a band called Dimmu Borgir."
Before my father set fire to our house in a demented rage, he was watching This Old House on HGTV.
Before my friend committed suicide, he ate a bowl of Cherrios.
Before those kids shot up the school, they had played a game of Texas Hold'Em Poker.
Obviously, HGTV, cereal, and card games are instruments of destruction.
For god's sake...
She was not in a good place, mentally. Because of THAT, she may have started listening to stuff she could relate with or what have you. Trust me, the music probably kept her alive for longer than she would have lasted without it.
Although this is probably lying for Jesus, just in case it isn't...
The girl was in a dark place, she started listening to dark music because it fit with her mood. You people were too wrapped up in your own little rapture fantasies to bother noticing that this girl was in trouble. Quit trying to blame outside forces for problems within your own world.
"but her death was the catalyst that God used"
God is omnipotent, and needs the death of innocents to power his miracles.
For the love of Anubis, are we blaming music groups for kids doing stupid shit of their own volition again?
Judas Priest just called, they want to kick your ass.

I'm Bipolar. On any given day I have very strong suicidal thoughts. On any given day it's quite likely that I will have watched Doctor Who . If I commit suicide on a day I've watched Doctor Who that doesn't mean I killed myself because of Doctor Who . All it means is that I commited suicide.
...but her death was the catalyst that God used to call me into spiritual warfare...
So Jehovah had to murder a teenage girl to get your attention focused on spreading his word, eh? Am I the only one thinks this would be the real-world equivalent of my sales manager slaying an intern in order to motivate the sales staff? "I want you b*****ds to hit your numbers this month or I swear I will off another one!!"
Dimmu Borgir? Honestly? They're okay, but they aren't black metal, so they're not really dangerous. Also, Dimmu Borgir have only been around since the early 90's, so they're not old school.

Makes me think of how in Fullmetal Alchemist, alchemy in Amestria used the suffering and death of our world as a power source.
So...Is God Edward Elric?
So, God had some poor girl kill herself so that He could use you as some sort of spiritual warrior?
Have you been off your meds recently?
Dimmu Borgir? Nothing special there. I listen to far worse (in terms of death, blood, violence, gore etc.) It's likely the poor girl had other problems you lot were too selfish to listen to.
The only thing dangerous about Dimmu Borgir is Shagrath's eyebrows thankya kindly.
And I'd dread to think what'd happen to her if she was into Carcass. The proper Carcass, with lyrics plundered from medical textbooks about dismemberment and gore, not the dodgy melo-death nonsense they became later.
My attempt at suicide is no doubt 'caused by me listening heavy on 'Javert's Suicide' from Les Miserables while I was hospitalized afterwards...
... it makes more sense than the guy ACTUALLY "succed"ing in killing himself THEN listened to Ozzy Osbourne's 'Suicide Solution'!
And why did 'Better by you, better than me' trigger that other suicide[-attempt]s; as Rob Halford said, "do it" could be anything (it makes me de the dishes). It would have made sense if 'Beyond the Realms of Death' was the track before, and not at the end of the album.
If I was goign to commit suicide I would do it whilst listening to my favourite music. That doesn't mean my favourite bands made me kill myself. I listen to my favourite music on the train to my lectures, does that mean those bands made me go to my lectures? I bet she was wearing shoes to when she died, obvioulsy her taste in footwear drove her to suicide!
Even more importantly, God killed her so you would go into "spiritual warfare"? Fuck you, you arogant cunt and fuck your God too!
Confused?
