[regarding a fictional book about alien beings that overtake the human 'host' body, where the alien and the host fall in love with some dude and work together to find him -- basically a sci-fi romance novel]
Unbelieveable how blatant things are becoming! Reading the discription made me ill...
I'm praying for the protection of anyone who reads this "novel".

So don't read it, problem solved.
Anyone who hasn't should check out the thread this came from. One person thinks the "invading alien species" are Obama voters. Classic.
Oh, if alien romance novels make you ill, you should read "Cold Wind". Gay space-lizards! :D
So then you can convulse violently and die, and we who can take this kind of subject matter can read our stories in peace!
I got so fed up with reading about the bad effects of smoking, drinking, sex, drugs and Rock n' Roll, I finally gave up reading.

If you think that's bad for fundie minds, I wonder what they could possibly make of Asimov's tri-gendered aliens in The Gods Themselves.
I think the novel that this poster is referring to is "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer. I haven't read it, but I've heard that it's not that good and that it has some anti-feminist themes, to boot. So, no, I don't think I'll be reading it any time soon, but not for the reasons that this moron's suggesting.

You people really seem to have trouble discerning reality from fiction. Everything you read is not real and everything in general is not related to Christianity and the Rapture.
I am too, but because it's by Stephanie I-Write-Like-An-Eleven-Year-Old-Fangirl Meyer, not because it's Satanic.
...Actually, Stephanie Meyer's books are so bad they may BE Satanic...
That book is "The Host", written by Stephanie Meyer of Twilight fame.
I'm cool with burning garbage, BTW.

Unbelievable how blatant things are becoming! Reading this book by Samuel Beckett would make me do as those in Jonestown or Heavens Gate did, and accelerate things along...
...if I were one of those on Ruptured Retards, that is.
@Antichrist
"FICTION!
Please learn the definition of that word."
It's precisely how we Atheists can discern that the likes of "On the Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin, "A Brief History of Time" by Prof. Stephen Hawking" and "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins are fact , and the "Harry Potter" series are fiction . Oh, and speaking of which...:
Q: What's the difference between the Bible and "Harry Potter"?
A: One is a widely read work of literature that is sold by the shipload, and greatly loved by millions, which has opened up the joy of reading to children worldwide (even the First Children, Sasha & Malia Obama love reading such); with a great and noble central figure who overcomes the forces of Evil, with dignity, humility & sacrifice. And - as a result of it's popularity - has had many films based on such.
The other is the Bible.
Confused?
