[regarding another fundie who was invited to a gay pride parade by a friend]
maybe it was a challenge they leveled at you to see where your loyalties are...?
...at the meanest, they could have purposely been trying to make you compromise so they could elevate their own personal agenda.

"elevate their own personal agenda"
Fuck, you people are ridiculously conceited! You really believe that everything you do is out of your love for God, not a bit of it is self-serving. "I hadn't eaten all day, and God just happened to command me to eat. I don't care about being healthy and feeling good but God commands it, so I better obey."
I'm sure it was just a slippery slope.
First you go to the parade, next thing you know you're a girl, and a lesbian, and a coke addict.
best summer ever...
That's right, everyone is out to get you! They want to compromise your values so they can infect you with things like kindness, compassion, and tolerance!
No not a parade!
IT'S A TRAP!

I don't think the gays need (or want) to resort to evangelist tactics. But I'm glad, icebear, that you said "at the meanest..."
Where can I buy one of those "personal agendas" I keep hearing so much about? The fundies swear we all have them, so they must be all the rage but I couldn't find any at my local mall, the factory outlet center or even on E-Bay, and I'm feeling left out.

I'm glad Grigadil saw the irony.
Purposely trying to make people compromise so they could elevate their own personal agenda?
What, like fundies trying to convert others?
Hm. Maybe they figured that dreadreadrea wasn't a self-righteous asshole like the rest of you fundies, and are most likely disappointed to find out that they were wrong.
I'm really, really disturbed by the idea that dreadreadrea's friends weren't asking her along just because she was their friend, but because they might be advancing an agenda. icebear, maybe you've spent just a bit too much time reading missionary propaganda, but friendships are not just evangelizing tools.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
