I have a theory...or rather an educated guess. Revelations says that Babylon will become a great city again and the merchants of the world will trade with her. I don't think this would be possible without the help of the U.S. And if we pull the troops out of Iraq this will be even less likely...therfore I think it is unlikely that OBAMA will win the election because McCain will leave the troops there. Just my two cents.
I think its important to pay attention to OBAMA and his beliefs but my vote will go to McCain as the lesser of two evils.

Revelations was written by a lunatic hermit who was stranded on an island for a couple of decades with only sodomising the goats for recreation.
Then his ramblings were immediatley accepted by a bunch of power-seekers, over 300 years after that collection of mis-translated babylonian fairy tales you call a bible was compiled.
BTW: I read cuneform fluently if you want the original text - I've been an archeologist for the last 51 years.
@Michael - stop showing off.
Remember, fundies read, write and speak "utter drivel" -both the pure and the whittering forms, and babble.
Rather puts you just reading cuneform in the shade, wot?
Shit man, we already have the great evil running the country, Karl Rove, the Saudis, Dick Cheney, and their lap-dummy Bush.

These people LIVE to bring on the Apocalypse. They await it with such lust and desperation that they're willing to press that red button in the Oval Office.
During the Reagan Administration, religious fanatics like Hal Lindsey and Jerry Falwell were consulted on conflicts and affairs in the Middle-East, so that their knowledge of Revelations could be used to understand what was happening there.
The Christian Right does not want to elect sober minds.
It's a very powerful motivation for me to either leave this country (the Red State population behave and vote like farm animals), or advocate the secession of Blue States. Honestly.
What a bunch of sick puppies.
Hurry up rapture, we need the room here in reality.

"I think it is unlikely that OBAMA will win the election because McCain will leave the troops there. Just my two cents. "
But if the anti-christ doesn't become president the world can't end. That's my two cents.
So don't vote for Obama because he will bring about the Apocalypse, instead vote for McCain because he will bring about the Apocalypse?
Wow, my neck hurts from the spin on that one.
"Revelations says that Babylon will become a great city again and the merchants of the world will trade with her."
Why would anyone want to trade with a pile of rubble 85 kilometers south of Baghdad? You apparently are unaware that Iraq is not Babylon. Babylon was a Mesopotamian city that's been uninhabited for quite some time now unless you count the U.S. troops who have made it a base of operations. If that's the case, why would the world want to trade with a military base?
I think you need to put more thought into your bullshit before you post it for all the world to see.
Revelation does NOT say that Babylon "will become a great city again." It uses the name "Babylon" as a codeword for the Roman Empire, which was the dominant power at the time that the book was written. The term "Babylon" was meant to bring to mind the earlier diaspora of the Jews in the Babylonian empire. Another book in the New Testament refers to "the church that is in Babylon." The church being referred to is actually the church in Rome.
Confused?
