I like the clip they have here.
People forget that Rev. Wright is not particularly wrong in anything he says apart from his whole tirade on AIDs.
People took the God Damn America speech out of context...
The Full Quote is...
"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people, God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."
1. He is referring to the introduction of Crack Cocaine to fund Iranian Contras.
2. The US has killed an ass tonne of innocent people in the Iraq War and far more will die.
3. The US does treat its own citizens as less than Human often not providing basic healthcare to poor people.
4. The US does force countries to do its bidding often to the detriment of the country involved, often propping up horrible dictatorships for no real reason.
So far Rev. Wright has not said anything "wrong".
"We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost,"
I mean, he fails at the most important one which is that Al-Qaeda and Osama are indeed American creations and the US supported Pakistani terrorism in India alongside Pakistani terrorism in Afghanistan. But he is right.
I mean, you heard Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson talk. Their mouths are actually filled with stupid crazy. This is merely inflammatory rhetoric that is sadly true...
