[In response to original fundie freaking out because her son wanted to hear 'I Kissed a Girl' on the radio in the car]
When I really re-committed to Jesus a number of years ago, no more listening to Country-Western music. And, we weren't listening to the newer artists. I'm talking about Ronny Milsap, Johnny Rodriquez, Alabama, and other of the older artists. Several years ago, I took ALL our C-W LPs out of the house and burned them. Just felt like I couldn't have them in the house because of the lyrics about getting drunk, or cheating, etc. Now, it's strictly Contemporary Christian or Southern Gospel, no Christian rock allowed! You are so right in how the lyrics can affect you and your thinking. I've always been very sensitive to music and how it moves my heart.

While I admire your stance on Christian rock, what did burning those LPs do for your carbon footprint?

The only religious music I can even STAND is Christian rock. The rest of the music has too much of a hard on for the magical sky being.
Also, if you think music can affect how you think, you're either an idiot or extremely weak willed.

Well, shit howdy, if listening to C&W makes you that crazy I don't want any of it, either. Actually I gave it up back with Hank and Les Carrot Top Anderson, so I think I'll be safe.

"I've always been very sensitive to music and how it moves my heart."
Anyone who doesn't like Johnny Cash or Pink Floyd doesn't have a heart.
