Wow, I was shocked today. I usually get my news online from Reuters or something. I know kids have access to it, but typically the younger ones (age 7-12) are either under parental supervision or not really reading the news. (Hopefully)
Yet today when I watched CNN for the first time in a long time, I was stunned. I happened to be channel surfing, and I saw video clips of gays kissing. My jaw dropped, and I kept it on there. There was a five-minute segment on the gay pride parade, and how it's more meaningful this year with the new CA marriage laws. There was an interview with two men who got married two weeks ago.

Yet today when I watched CNN for the first time in a long time, I was stunned. I happened to be channel surfing, and I saw video clips of a man and a woman kissing. My jaw dropped, and I kept it on there. There was a five-minute segment on the straight pride parade, and how it's more meaningful this year with the new CA marriage laws. See how ridiculous this sounds? Yeah, Jubilee, you sound just a ridiculous.

Meh, not as bad as half of the people we get on here. Not only would their jaws have dropped, but they would have ran out of the room, screeching about how they are cramming the homosexual agenda down America's throat. After a busy day of temper tantrums and shouting down people going into gay bars, they would then spend the night writing angry letters to CNN, and pass out at 2 a.m. to be tormented with disturbing, but strangely hypnotic, nightmares of male-on-male action.

It excited you, didn't it? Go on, admit it.
Recent attitudes have made our pastime something of a bore, haven't they? I used to spend weeks out with my binoculars, searching out the rare homosexual couple and logging them in my journal. Just ten years ago I was the talk of the town when I spotted two bearded Feigeles. Now, they're perched everywhere for anyone to see. Oh, those were the days...

I watched, puzzled, intrigued, even somewhat confused... that's when it hit me. The reason I felt different from everyone else. The reason I always got that funny feeling inside whenever I looked at a man. Everything that felt wrong about my life suddenly felt right.

Must have been lesbians. :D
Actually it is ridiculous. I fully agree with Jubilee...
Its a ridiculous idea that in this day and age that we have to still make the fact that people want to have sex with their own gender a countrywide issue by which people dictate who they vote for when there are far bigger problems. Do you want to discuss my fiscal policy? Do you want me to discuss my ideas of improving the living conditions of people? No you want me to discuss men shagging men.
I mean this is like being on the Titanic as its sinking and complaining that the waiter service is poor...
Seriously, you people just need to get used to this as this is the way it's going to be from now on. If you can't handle it, move to some nice middle eastern country that lets you murder people in the streets like you long to do.
I think footage of war and famine is worse having on TV so children may see it than two men kissing...
... and on a half-related note; why does internet shock-sites and the like consider elderly people having scat-sex as bad as dead babies and victims of genocide?

Yeah. Isn't it wonderful that homosexuals can finally engage in a state-recognised stable monogamous relationship with their partners?
....and I saw video clips of gays kissing. My jaw dropped, and I kept it on there
did it make you feel....funny? like when you climbed the rope in gym class?
I can sort of understand where this fundie is coming from. I mean, I'm all for gay rights (I kind of am one), but showing gays kissing on national television hurts the cause more than helps it. I treat is just as I would a straight couple shown making out on national news: with a sigh and a thought of, "Did this really deserve to be on national television, or is it just a 'viewer grab'?"
Typically, gay pride parades hurt more than help. The way some homosexuals appear in them make them easy targets in the media, and don't make others think, "Hey, these people are just like us." I'd say it's more of a, "Hey, these people are perverse freaks."
I can't believe the sinful, worldly news would report things that actually happened!
You know, it was pretty horrific watching 9/11 unfold, but that doesn't mean I think the cameras should have been shut off. News exists to document events.
Shut up and grow up.
I don't particularly care to watch men make out. But I have this cool thing called a TV remote control.
All US citizens should have equal rights. I fail to see why that is such a difficult concept. You are free to believe whatever religious dogma you want, but you cannot use that as an excuse to infringe on the freedom of others.
How dare they show pictures that are relevant to their story. They should just have all jesus all the time.
So you watched it for 5 minutes, eh? Did you feel the spirit of the lord move your loins?
Yet today when I watched CNN for the first time in a long time, I was stunned. I happened to be channel surfing, and I saw video clips of a black man and a white woman kissing. My jaw dropped, and I kept it on there. There was a five-minute segment on the black rights parade, and how it's more meaningful this year with Martin Luther King Jr heading it. There was an interview with two interracial people who got married two weeks ago.
Diffrent decade, same shite.
You know what would really suck? If America actually did collapse right about now, and future fundies subsequently blamed it on stuff like this rather than, say, pointless wars, falling academic standards and a wrecked economy.
"I happened to be channel surfing, and I saw video clips of gays kissing. My jaw dropped, and I kept it on there."
You had your hands down your pants, didn't you?

Keep 'em stupid and uninformed, that's the secret to child-rearin''.
A couple got married and kissed each other; good for them. So what?
Get back to what shocked you, instead.
The younger the kid, the less it will be bothered with adults kissing. I'd say they would be much more bothered by news segments from Syria or Palestine. But maybe you're one of those idiots who think love is worse than war...
Really? I am stunned by stories of violence and crushing poverty. Do stories like that disturb you or just scene of men expressing love for each other?
@ FMG Do you expect that there will ever be a time when there are not issues to be attended to? Issues of civil rights cannot wait until a "better" time because that time will never, ever come. I'm not saying that marriage equality is the most important issue on the floor, but it is an issue that is worth fighting for, and trying to trivialize it will not make it go away.
Confused?
