Sorry to disappoint you, but you didn't put anything over my head. I happen to be recuperating from shoulder surgery, and just didn't feel like it then.......

That's nice that you can hand pick scriptures and try to make your point without cross-referencing or looking at the bigger picture, and seeing the story for what it was meant to be.

I seriously think you are the type of person who if I were to tell you that the sky IS blue, or the grass IS green, you would find a reason to argue with the statement. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, or makes you any less knowlegeable, but actually you keep dodging my points on how we can't see God with our eyes, (He is more powerful than the sun, and we can't even look directly into that, without injuring ourselves) and you don't explain why you just can't comprehend this notion. Actually, I don't think it has anything to do with your ability to understand it, but rather, it is easier for you to say, none of it exists, and it's all make believe, etc. That way, you have no accountability to something higher than yourself. Has science figured out the connection betwen our heart and brain and all of the emotions we feel as humans? Didn't think so. And THEY never will.

A) We can look directly at it, actually. The issue isn't that we can't, it's that we shouldn't as doing so will cause serious damage to our eyes.
B) We have tons of other ways to observe not only the Sun, itself, but its effects as well.
C) If your god is all powerful then he should be able to allow himself to be seen directly. You can create the universe, but you can't appear in a toned down form? What's up with that?
D) You're just pulling things out of your ass. Nowhere in the bible does it say any such thing about your god and, in fact, I do believe that it would contradict such a claim.

Technically neither the sky nor the grass has a color. It's only the fact that those two items reflect back light of a certain spectrum that causes them to appear to be green or blue.

That way, you have no accountability to something higher than yourself.

If I get in trouble with the cops it's not as if Jehovah's going to suddenly manifest Himself to take care of it for me. And that applies to any and every situation here on Earth. If I go in for surgery Jehovah won't be the one handling the scalpel; if I get in the tights financially He won't suddenly show up at my door with a big "Ed McMahon" check. When I screw up the people affected by my error don't blame Jehovah; they blame me.

If and/or until Jehovah directly handles my life for me He has zero claim on my time, my money, or my respect. Why? Because I'm the one who's paying the cost to be the boss.

No, not yet. At least not entirely. However, we do know that emotion doesn't originate in the Human heart. It originates in the Human brain. A heart is a four-chambered muscle which runs on our autonomic nervous system. You'd have known that if you had taken an extra few minutes to research and think about your question.

Okay...okay...

1. Very few people within your own faith cross-reference every passage that they cite in light of the entirety of the book that they are taken of, or the entirety of the Bible itself, while interpretting it. Just look at how the Christians foam at the mouth about the Bible condemning gays, in light of the New Testament passages that deal with being judgmental. So, yeah...I call "hypocrisy".
2. The statements "the sky is blue" or "grass is green", while they are wrong (in that the sky is not always blue, and grass not always green), are at least verifiable statements. Statements about God are not, so the comparison fails.
3. You compare God's invisiblity and intangibility to not being able to look at the sun without damaging your eyes due to its intensity. That is fail. If power=damage to eyes, and God is omnipresent and omnipotent, than he should not be invisible; we should be blinded by his radiant glory! Not to mention that he should probably be melting all of reality, if he is truly comparable a sentient mega-everywhere-star.
4. It is indeed easier to say that God does not exist, in that there is no reason to believe otherwise, and everyone who asserts that he does could similarly assert that Giant ferrets from the 9th dimension are aiming interdimensional rockets to hit our planet in the year 9984. It has about as much proof.
5. Christianity does not make one accountable in any form beyond being required to be a Christian. You can ask to be forgiven for any damn thing you do, so how exactly is that being more accountable than atheists? At least atheists know that they are responsible for their actions in respect to other human beings; something that Christians can completely bypass with their delusions of another existence.
6. Yes, science has made a good number of connections between our emotions and their source in the brain (and the heart has nothing to do with it.).

Seriously, I'll go ahead and give this poster the benefit of assuming that he/she was being metaphorical in reference to the heart, speaking of human personality and emotional state. And you know what? We HAVE figured out the connection between the brain and the heart in this sense, too -- it's partly physical (i.e., certain parts of the personality depending on the function of certain brain areas, which can be lost if there is physical brain damage due to, say, trauma) and partly biochemical (hasn't she ever heard of antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds?).

Come on, sunshine4ever, this isn't brain surgery. Well, at least not entirely.

Okay, time to haul out this oldie-but-goodie:

An elementary school teacher is trying to explain the definition of the word "definitely" to her class. To make sure they understand it, she asks them to use the word in a sentence. One student raises his hand and says "The sky is definitely blue." The teacher replies, "Well, that isn’t entirely correct, because it can be black at night or gray on a cloudy day."

Another student says, "Grass is definitely green." The teacher says "If grass doesn’t get enough water it turns brown, so that isn’t really correct either."
