Well, unfortunately for me, my priest is a little too...how do I put it..."nice" to his congregation. He kind of preaches an "everyone will be saved" type of message, and I didn't realize this until recently. He has never mentioned the Rapture or hinted at it in any way, but when I asked him if he'd ever heard of the Rapture, his face darkened and he told me it was a bunch of foolish nonsense made up by people who want to scare people into believing in Christ...it concerned me and made me realize that I need to switch churches. I'm going off to college in the Fall, so hopefully the congregation there will be more receptive to End Times discussion.

I agree with this guys priest, especially since the majority of believers in my religion believe that their religion surrounds the ideology of being kind to one another.
I just don't agree with this guy...but everyone's entitled to their opinion, I guess.

If you are in a Rapture style church, you don't have a priest. You have a pastor or a minister. Priests offer sacrifice. That is their purpose. OTOH, if you are a Catholic or High Anglican, then it is quite possible. Catholics and Anglicans don't generally believe in the Rapture fable. You should read up on how it came about - only in the mid 19th century. Just imagine, christianity existed for about 1900 years and no one knew about the Rapture! Were they all wrong? I think not. Your 'priest' is right. Rapture is a scare tactic. And you have fallen for it. But there are no certainties. Not even the existence of god. A certainty would mean there could be no faith. Fixed.

If any of you are actually Christian, why are you bashing this person? Obviously they are misinformed and a little confused about the truth, but that doesn't mean you should insult them and tell them how crazy they are.

I can tell by this post that it's a Poe, or a troll, AT Rapture Ready. It's a protestant posing as a former Roman Catholic, to try and put down catholicism. It's horrible, seeing as how catholicism predates protestantism, and most protestant theology is just a rehashing and reshaping of catholic theology. It makes protestantism look that much more rediculous.
